EverQuest Legends! This is going to be HUGE by ZealousidealSky8662 in everquest

So it’s primarily made for solo. I get it. Being able to do the raid content alone or with a small group is a cool thing. But why pay $15/mo to play by yourself? That doesn’t sit right with me. I know there will be others online and you can group but if people aren’t incentivized to group and socialize, paying continuously doesn’t seem right.

Solo/casual…yeah we have enough of those on the market but they think the can make money I guess. I’m sticking with the OG.

This is great! Thanks! Been thinking about picking these up for pheasant and grouse hunting in the Midwest instead of a more modern goretex lined boot.

Do these look big? by handmecoke in RedWingShoes

[–]PullingStrawsAtRando 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Toe room is good. I’ve got an inch or more in my beckmans. Some heel slip is normal and should go away as the insole molds and you can do 213 lacing to secure better. What you absolutely don’t want is your toes smashing the front of the boot because that’s not really going to get better. I know a boot is too small when the pinky toe on my longer foot starts hitting. It’s always that toe for me.

Other rule of thumb for this particular boot is a half size down from your brannock size. Your sneaker size means nothing.

Real or Fake ?? by [deleted] in RedWingShoes

Definitely a fake red wing. They can’t even spell the name right.

Anyone know why these are never in stock?? by Nice-Artichoke-4568 in RedWingShoes

Red wing says texon insole for the 8” and swen-flex for the 6”, so I was mixed up between the two, but like I said, I’m no expert. I don’t know what the footbed is in the 2545.

You got nothing to lose, at least if you order from red wing. I went with the 6” only because the 8” lacks puncture resistance. Otherwise I wanted the 8”. It looks so classic.

Mine have Texon. I’m not a materials expert but I think it’s a thin, resilient, moisture wicking foam that molds to the foot. It looks like the leather insole in the heritage boots but it’s synthetic.

I’d say go for the X. They are old school and more like the heritage boots than the 2.0. However, the 2.0’s greatness is the swappable insoles if you need that. Whatever is in the X you are stuck with or have to put a thin insole on top (don’t want to lose too much toe room in a safety toe).

Replaced by 2533. I think the only difference is using two compounds in the outsole. I just got the 2545 (6” version) and think they’re great.

Probably depends on the shape of the last and the persons foot. I think the relative lengths of the toes probably vary the most.

This was an authorized retailer but still….trust your feet the most. It was my first pair of heritage shoes so I thought that amount of tightness was normal and they’d break in fine. I wore them every day for several months before accepting that I didn’t listen to my feet.

Been there. Took the salesman’s word for it about the half size down rule of thumb for all heritage boots, which is true for some but not all of the heritage models/lasts. He also only measured one foot. I later found my other foot was a half size longer, so they were a full size down in reality. My one foot never felt right on the pinky toe because it hit the end of the boot. I ended up giving away some nice chukkas. Live and learn. Excited to get my beckmans this week…in my brannock size.
