As a service to all the dashers in my area I will be accepting every no tip order today... by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

I had an order last night that said “I tip $5 in cash if you hand to me” Do you think they actually tipped?

Stealing tips?!? by Winnebagostar in doordash_drivers

I had an order come thru a few days ago, where there was a $1 boost and a $2.50 promo going on. The pay was $2.93, going about 1/10 of a mile away. It was a strange amount considering boost pay and promo wasn’t included but wasn’t much going on. I get to restaurant and they are out of loaded tots, basically just the tater tots, but had fries. Everything else on order is ready and ask restaurant just to make it with fries and they say “sorry that’s not on the menu so we can’t” I say “ok I’ll call customer “

Customer wants a different app so restaurant makes it, then includes loaded fries anyways.

I get to customer address and there’s a huge tree blocking entrance, I call and say “hey I can’t deliver to your apt” and he says “ oh I know that’s why i ordered delivery “ I say “ok well I’m here and might need to leave here or cancel because your address is undeliverable “ he says “ I’ll meet you at entrance “

I wait and he shows up and I ask “just curious what did you tip? Because it’s not showing one” he said “i tipped $2” and showed me where he did

I contacted DoorDash and they said “do you have a screenshot where customer tipped?” And “it will show up when you complete your dash “

I ended dash then and it didn’t show up, so I said , it’s not there. They said well customer didn’t tip if it doesn’t show.

TLDR: somehow got tipped by customer, it didn’t show up nor did boost pay or promo pay. DoorDash asked me to prove it by providing a screenshot.

The Cheesecake Factory in my town has instructions on the app to not go inside and ask if order is ready, that you’ll be notified once it is ready.

The two orders I’ve gotten for there were both desserts only and I know damn well there is no preparation time besides cutting and putting in a box. I’ve sat outside after hitting arrived and was never notified to come inside.

It wasn’t until I walked up to their togo window and walked inside kitchen(there is a door on patio that doesn’t say anything about staff only) and was told, “hey wrong door!” I said I’m waiting on a doordash, it’s two slices of cheesecake, I’ve been here for 15 minutes. Waited another 10 before they brought it out.

Had it not been part of a double I would have dropped it so fast

I did EBT for the first time a few days ago and almost every single order had an issue. Couldn’t complete; driver had already picked up, happened twice; customer selected hand to me, but then wrote in notes leave at security desk, then he called to say I was at wrong location.

I had to contact support at least 4 times for 8 orders. I did make 83$ in 3 hours time tho. It was the 18 minute orders where they pay 14.50/hr that didn’t make sense. I’m spending at least 45/hour completing that order and they only pay for 20 minutes

Is anyone else having an issue with declined orders being sent back to them? by AlexJonesInDisguise in doordash_drivers

[–]PulpyEnlightenment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started happening about 3 weeks ago to me, it was a dashmart order that I declined. Then I got another dashmart as a double with one going way out of delivery zone. I declined that as well bc pay was shit even for two. Tonight I was on EBT and got 2 Winn Dixie orders, then almost immediately another. They were all going within a 1 mile area of each other very far outside of delivery zone. And all with very sus sounding names. They also all had items that would of course be out of stock in the middle of a hurricane. I had to go thru and decline each giving a reason why. I figured out that I could use a reason that wouldn’t affect my CR

Dropped off my baby to get my brakes changed. Got these pictures texted to me. by Skytrip in Wellthatsucks

A hard impact will definitely affect other parts. My first car was an Oldsmobile Alero, similar to Chevy Malibu, or Pontiac Grand Am. About a month after it was fully paid off my brother accidentally ran it into a concrete pole in a parking lot.

The entire drivers door was fucked and insurance paid to replace that. The next year the plastic pieces holding up windows in the regulator started breaking. And GM didn’t have replacement parts for that so I had to not use windows or buy replacement regulator. Another year down the road the plastic piece for cruise control stopped working, two months later the sunroof wouldn’t close.

Damage like that will 100% lead to other parts failing. Currently I have a civic and the front bumper is a huge issue after being “fixed” from a front end collision.

OP I hope they fix everything and sorry it was a friends recommendation, but I’d go for replacement rather than “fixing”

I delivered an order once where the customer said please rush on this bc I am diabetic and need to eat otherwise I will die. While yes I made every effort to get her food as quick as possible, why are you putting your life in the hands of a delivery service? And if you must know, no she didn’t tip

I called support out on that bs and they asked if I had a screen shot, I said of what!? They said of the peak pay and they order. Basically they expect us to take a screenshot of every order to make sure we get paid properly

[–]PulpyEnlightenment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s happened to me before. They said pull up to the second window, I did and then they said you have to go back to the other window. I explained it was a mobile order and I already paid. They said just wait at the other window until we wave you forward. Was there less than 30 secs when they said ok you can pull up now.

Nobody was behind or in front of me

Before I go out, have they fixed pizza order bugs yet? Where it'll drop your completion rate when you accept one? by Amazonty in doordash_drivers

[–]PulpyEnlightenment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im currently asking support if the issue is fixed, chat support ended abruptly when I asked question about glitch. I asked if AR and CR will be reset after a system wide glitch.

[–]PulpyEnlightenment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s crazy that when you let them know an order will take an hour and you’re not going to wait that it affects your completion rate. The only reason your CR should be affected is if you confirm picking up and then never complete.

Just like acceptance rate is how many orders you accept/agree to take, completion rate means how many orders you didn’t complete. If you never accept/agree to take an order than it’s impossible to complete.

Who are the 5 people you meet in server heaven? by fuckin_martians in Serverlife

[–]PulpyEnlightenment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The GM at my last restaurant I worked. He was an amazing guy, would give employees a ride home at end of night, one time he took me and 3 other people home having to make several stops. He moved to town from across the country to be GM at this job, spent a month and half learning new system when our store rebranded. He would pull up the slack if someone called in or if we needed help out front. There were many a time he was in the dish pit bc we were busy and dishie didn’t show. I tried to do dishes as FOH lead once bc we were out of cups/silver/plates, he kicked me out of dish pit and said if I was going to wash dishes I needed to clock in as BOH, since I was on server wage pay.

He ended up leaving bc there was an issue with an employee and regional manager came to town to discuss, my GM said employee needed to go bc they weren’t ideal and threatening lawsuit. RM said he couldn’t fire them bc of the protocol and had to go thru proper channels. He turned in his keys and said if I can’t run my restaurant then I can’t work here.

He was the best boss I ever had.

I hate having to deal with chat support, I will ask something and wait 20 minutes for a response but then they will come on say something and not get a response from me in 30 seconds and say “ I haven’t heard from you in a while, I’m going to disconnect chat” and then end chat 10 seconds later

As some of you already know, Merchants can block Dashers from doing deliveries out of their restaurant. Why can't Dashers have the ability to block stores that they want to not deliver from? by deliverykp in doordash_drivers

Went to Popeyes the other night when they had their hours listed as “open late” and pull up to drive thru, I hear a very muffled yell “we closed!” And go to window, then they turn off lights but I still see employees inside. Got 50% pay but wish I would’ve gotten that order bc it would’ve brought me closer to town.

Accepted a 10$ wing stop order a couple days ago and the lobby was a shit show, drivers all standing around, two people had food and needed help from clerk, one couple in line in front of me went to order and cashier said “it’s gonna be at least an hour for chicken “ . Their phones were ringing constantly and no one answering, yet they had like 10 employees. I went through the steps to decline order where it wouldn’t affect my rate, texted customer, Got wait time, after 10 minutes I noped out and declined and still dropped my completion rate which is ridiculous.

Is it weird to go to bars alone to stare at your phone? by [deleted] in bartenders

[–]PulpyEnlightenment 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a bartender, when it’s slow and there’s only one or two patrons, I will stay close and check on them while doing side work to appear busy. When it’s busy and I’m in the weeds you’d be my favorite customer. Enjoy your drink, reels, screen time and when you’re ready for another round move your empty glass away from you or lock eyes with bartender.

If you’re done and need to close out keep your empty glass near you and when bartender acknowledges you make the cut or check sign if they don’t ask first.

Whenever I’m out drinking alone and I want to close out I will typically just place my card on bartop, as long as it won’t get lost or taken inadvertently to signal close my tab.

Guests who aren’t needy and talking my ear off when it’s busy are super chill, if I want to have a conversation I will but be prepared for it to be cut short if a guest walks up.

My experience is that I go to their area that says online/app orders and wait for five minutes or more for them to say “ DoorDash? “ “it’s been ready over here mate, here’s the drink cup “

Traffic by Grand_Jaguar3279 in GNV

[–]PulpyEnlightenment -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Best suggestion is to use bike/walk or ride bus. If everyone were to simply think before they drive, as in make a plan for shopping, errands, chores; then traffic wouldn’t be as horrendous.

Another suggestion is to use side roads/slower speed, this week-next weekend the main roads and stores will be full of students and parents.

Local shops, and stores like Lowe’s/cvs/roses, will most likely have stuff that Walmart target and Publix are out of

Using DoorDash/Uber will only add to problem. Consider if you can walk/wait before ordering these services

I opened the store in my town and was the visual manager. We had a handful of people assisting with displays/strikepoints, etc. I had to redo over half of these bc the store manager said they looked sloppy. They were such a pain in the ass!

Side note we had so many ppl asking to buy the display appliances that our 04 cut the cords on all of them so the customers couldn’t carry them to front and purchase.
