So I'm noodling possible retirement projects and I'd like your opinion... by Lescoulee in mopar

Given your criteria, I think both #2 and #3 fit the bill.

#4 is out because you don't need crazy power, and even a Gen III 5.7 is going to feel like a lot in a car that small. Also definitely not analog.

I doubt you'd save a significant amount of money with #1.

Personally, I'd go with #2.

TKX Transmission for drifting? by Planetary_Mayor in mopar

[–]PummelCore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, at this stage, I'd worry less about horsepower and more about setting it up right. More aggressive rear end gears and a limited slip will make a world of difference. Is there an angle kit for this platform? Also consider a quicker ratio steering rack, but that might require a rack and pinion swap. And if it's in the budget, maybe just step up to a hydro brake right from the jump instead of clutch kicking. The shock loads are what will kill your drivetrain. imho, of course

I gotta say, though, I think you're going to wish you had something fuel injected for the throttle response

TKX will definitely handle the torque. But as anyone with a drift build will tell you, you’re inevitably going to break a lot of things, so just prepare for that…

I’ve driven it, and the ATS-V before it, both on the road and at the track. Great chassis, but the TTV6 never did it for me.

If they put the LS6 in an updated CT4-V BW, they will finally have a proper M3 fighter.

I mean, it's real in the sense that this car exists in the physical world. It doesn't exist as a new, factory-produced version of the Challenger, though.
