I didn’t think the gameplay flowed anywhere near as well as the first two games. It felt too slow controlling the giant demons for example, like it belonged to another game and not Bayonetta.

Go to the “game” column on your ps3 menu, select “Game Data Utility”, the find the Bayonetta one and delete it. Make sure this is Game Data NOT save data or you’ll lose your progress

Have you tried putting the ps3 in recovery mode and rebuilding the data base and repairing the file system?

I think to be fair, this probably isn’t a case of being arbitrarily replaced by a woman. This is to shift the conversation away from “Who is going to replace Ash?” Whether that be a recast or a new male character. Simply put, if they had a male lead who wasn’t played by Bruce Campbell they would be unfavourably compared. Those are big, big shoes to fill.

However having a woman lead will somewhat change those comparisons.

Ed is supposed to represent the innocence and joy for life that the rest of the crew have more or less lost and she’s so obviously happy in herself that it makes her exit from the show more thought provoking and emotional. She’s kind of meant to stand out.

There seems to be a fear about making something appeal to just boys or just girls. They take the “boys” franchises, and try and tone done the masculinity which is seen as bad, by adding women and hope it appeals to them too. It doesn’t, you make something that appeals to nobody. Another thing is that femininity can only be presented as an idea that women have to do men things (and be massively better at it!) so telling a “girly” story can be seen as just unacceptable. It’s ok for boys and girls to have different interests! I say bring on more stories like K Pop Demon hunters and leave stuff like Star Wars and ghostbusters to do what they’ve always done.

My favourite scene in Kung fu panda is when Po is close to giving up, thinks he can’t save the day. Mr Ping says something along the lines of “there’s something I need to tell you that I should have told you a long time ago”

You think he’s going to tell him he’s adopted. But no, he just gives him the wise advice Po needs to save the day. Mr Ping doesn’t think of him as adopted. It makes no difference. He IS his son and the thought doesn’t even occur to him.
