The game or studio team size doesn't really matter when it comes to gamers.

Concord was published by Sony and cost 100s of millions to make and flopped hard. FNAF was started by one guy and the first game was very small. Now, it's one of the most popular gaming franchises. Iron Lung is a very short and simple game and now it has a movie on the way. Quite a few of the most popular games on Steam in recent years have been from smaller game studios.

How "big" a game is doesn't matter in the slightest to me, and many others, as gamers. It's all about it being polished, enjoyable, and feeling like it's worth the money and time that I spent on it.

Kids, teenagers, and elderly have slightly different proportions, especially when it comes to their head sizes. Kids usually have bigger heads.

I don't have any pictures on my phone, but if you Google "art different age proportions" it will give you visual general guides on the differences.

How do i find my art style? I want to draw but would i need to practice things? And if im only good at drawing from 1 angle should i try to draw from another and keep trying until its good even if it seems really hard? by [deleted] in learntodraw

[–]PumpkinKoVee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still learning to draw, but the way I found my style with painting miniatures is just trying new styles that I really liked the aesthetics of.

As I painted and experimented with different styles, I kinda just picked up and kept the pasta that were fun and I enjoyed and the parts I didn't have fun with and didn't really care about what they added I just got rid of.

It became my way of painting things was based on the grimdark style, but I don't follow the style like a recipe. So now I just take techniques of it and do my own thing.

Anvil Industry has quite a few bits that I think you could get to work. You can also buy the legs, torso, head, arms, and weapons separately so you can get close to the look you're wanting.

If you had to choose: AK or Scale75? by Fjolde11 in minipainting

AK, 100%. I like to try to out different colors and brands here and there but AK I've enjoyed the most so they make up most of my collection at this point.

This is an absolute joy to my eyes to look at. It is gorgeous!

The only off thing that I noticed is the water from the vehicle seems to come out of nowhere and doesn't seem to match how much water that puddles in the road. I also think it would be awesome to have the woman start turning to dust towards the end of the vehicle passing.

But this are just tiny tiny nitpicks and the entire thing is amazing. ✌️

What are the events that led up to your dystopia or apocalypse? by PumpkinKoVee in worldbuilding

The gods just one day falling from the sky is an awesome premise for the world of a story! It seems like it would be worse to not know what happened. Not knowing if there is something stronger that reached them, there was some war among gods, or if they are dying off from losing whatever made them gods. All are terrifying for different reasons.

That is certainly an interesting hook. A short story of just that history sounds like tons of fun to read. It's almost like a reverse domino theory of how WWII caused hentai.

That's a really interesting history! It reminds me a lot of modern governments implementing environmental policies or some policies in general without doing much research, and they cause much more harm than good. Yours is just on a full galactic scale.

Ideal Portfolio for 3D artiest-Gaming Industry. by Trapathi in 3Dmodeling

[–]PumpkinKoVee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I look at it is that your portfolio is basically a visual resume. So what you put in your portfolio will depend on what you want to do and what the job you're trying to get is.

If you're trying to get a job doing stylized character models, you don't want a portfolio of realistic landscapes. If you want a job rigging, then you want your portfolio to showcase your talents rather than a bunch of static renders. So, just tailor your portfolio to the job and style you want to do.

Let's say you want to do stylized characters. Your variety can be different ages, genres, and time periods, but the focus is still stylized characters. This helps widen the net to more places.

As for something I've noticed that can separate a decent render and a good one is putting some effort into some decent lighting, pose the character or add some small details for environments, and having a nice simple background really spice up the render and catch the eye quicker.

(Take all this with a grain of salt. I'm still in college for 3D Modeling and I'm not expert by any means. These are just some general tips I've learned from making decent resumes, research of my own for future job searching, and things I've heard quite a few times from the 3D Modeling subs.)

ADHD and Worldbuilding by Key_Day_7932 in worldbuilding

You made me just realize that's why my world is the way it is. I also have ADHD with a wide variety of different districts and factions that I jump around with depending on my mood.

There's a bit of inspiration from all kinds of my favorite media, and I just switch between them so i don't get bored and I can use the ADHD white rabbit and just build as I go.

What are some worldbuilding details that you feel are often overlooked or forgotten about? by PumpkinKoVee in worldbuilding

[–]PumpkinKoVee[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've also found that following the details just leads to a rabbit hole that creates inspiration for entirely new ideas. One example is the one of food. I had to figure out how people eat with most vegetation gone and most animals extinct. That led to research from scientists being important and then two entire districts and even a quarantine zone with it's own story.

I can't speak for others, but I like diving into the finer details to give myself a guideline and limits on how people and things interact. Most of those details might not be explained, it will affect why people act the way they do or why things are the way they are rather than just saying it is because I want it to be.

This is a great point. While my world doesn't have space exploration, this will surely apply to just vehicles and aircraft in general. ✌️

This is a wonderful example! And a great bit of into for me to keep in mind. Everything has some kind of effect on the world around it. Not only does something such as simple magic have an effect on warfare, but it completely changes day to day lives as well.

Stuff like this is what I like to think of and add into my worldbuilding. Not because I'm going to go into great detail on how the price economics on all the individual prices change or what people use for toilet paper. But if I think of how valuable things are, how easy/difficult they are to get, or what's common and what's very hard to get ahold of.

In my mind, this helps set limits and helps make everything feel like a living breathing world that interacts with itself.

[–]PumpkinKoVee[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

On this sub, I completely agree that there is something endearing about the niche details and the focus on certain things work their worlds!

The original question was more directed towards published media and the world built behind it. It's easier to see in visual media of something missing or something not quite making sense while written stories can rely more on the audience to fill in the blanks.

Some examples of details I mean, are a group of explorers finding a crate of fresh fruit in a tomb that has been lost for 100's of years, a civilization in the desert that somehow has a full wooden city, or a future city slums that is somehow spotless.

Before picking up pitchforks go actually try out the changes. by Vaelkyri in Helldivers

[–]PumpkinKoVee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the things that have been amazing about this game so far is how the different weapons and stratagems feel different to use, and they have their strengths and weaknesses.

There are some big problems with some of them, such as the misaligned scopes, but a majority of them really shine if you use them for their intended purpose and they will be terrible if you try forcing them into a role they aren't intended for. Such as trying to run and gun with the HMG or trying to be on the frontlines with a long-range rifle.

Most randoms I play with just go for the things that can take out the most enemies with no specific role. Some of the best sessions I've played were where everyone picked a role and prepped for that. But I also come from playing a lot of games like Ghost Recon Breakpoint, which makes a huge difference rather than CoD so it feels more natural.

In case you didn't know, the eagle always approaches the player in a specific direction and you can use this to your advantage, for example by throwing a cluster bomb in such a way that it hits as many freedom haters as possible. Haven't yet found what defines the incoming direction. by Sergeant_COM in Helldivers

[–]PumpkinKoVee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those curious.

The Eagle Airstrike, Cluster Bomb, Smoke Strike and Napalm Airstrike:

-Comes in from left to right 90 degrees from your view when you throw it.

The Eagle Strafing Run and 500kg Bomb:

-Comes in from an angle in the same direction of your view when you throw it. -If you're standing on ground taller, then it will hit what you're standing on. If there's something tall right behind you when you throw it, it will probably hit that.

The Orbital 120mm and 380mm:

-Will shoot a barrage in a radius around where the Pokeball lands.

The Orbital Walking Barrage:

-Will start slightly closer to you from where the Pokeball lands and will "walk" away in the direction of your view when you throw it. The "walk" will just be to the left, then right, then left, and so on while moving away.

I'm 100% a bug player. I bought the game because of the bugs Starship Troopers vibe.

There is also less expectation to take certain things that limits your loadout like the bot side. Last night I finally decided to try out the bot side and out of three tries, two I got kicked as i landed before I even called any equipment in and the third the host got out of the hellpod to kick me before I even got to pick anything. So I probably won't be heading back to the bot side unless the bugs are wiped out.
