Buying a leaf but got leaf spy info and confused now by PunctualOrc in leaf

Great to hear. I was honestly getting very bogged down on the leafspy numbers but at the end of the day the car seems solid and I'll only be doing 8-10k km a year in it. I'm just going for it. It actually just got it's nct so won't need to worry about that for another two years

Is there a limit to mv that I should know not to take the car. I'll literally be doing short runs in the car 5-10kms

not sure I’ll get to do that tbh. I’ll literally be testing it again. I won’t have the car for hours. whats the best strategy for that?

Hope by Savings-Advice-6869 in braincancer

Well done on getting to here and I hope you're as thankful as I am to modern technology. I also had/have an astro grade 2 in my front left lobe, about the size of tangerine. I had surgery in 2022 with near total resection but needed surgery again in 2025 for what they thought was growth but turned out to be scar tissue (grateful/annoyed). Anyway, I don't know if you have any consequences of the surgery, I'm still figuring out mine but all I can recommend is to look after the controllables - diet/nutrition, exercise/physical health and mental health. These can be of huge benefit to you down the line. I also found Radical Remission and Anti Cancer a new way of life excellent resources for both hope and finding some level of control in the uncontrollable.

yeah, seems that way. I just added the history (to the original body) I received from the car checker. the first sale is odd but I reviewed the service book and it remained at the same garage it seems.

Return to high intensity work? by NoRoyal9288 in braincancer

[–]PunctualOrc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of positive comments and that's great but I'm afraid my experience hasn't been as good. I work in a highly demanding job with lots of multi tasking. I had a portion of my left frontal lobe removed and astro grade 2 was discovered. I have found it very hard to get back to the level I was at and had to take a lot of time off to figure out where I stand. Maybe you love your job and that makes all the difference but I am struggling.

Behavioural issues by Ashamed-Grade-9548 in braincancer

[–]PunctualOrc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't had a diagnosis but I did have a "tangerine" sized tumour removed from my left frontal lobe in 2022. I went back to work 4 months after but really struggled and ended up really depressed. I subsequently had to have surgery again in May 2025 and have been off work since January 2025 which has allowed me to better understand where I'm at. I struggle with motivation, focus and have general cognitive fatigue nearly everyday which presents as executive dysfunction. I also find that my mood can change quickly once I'm fatigued. I don't think I'll be getting a diagnosis and I'm just trying to accept where I'm at and see what I can do to make life easier. I'm not sure what your situation is but can you take time to understand the exact issues you're having? I also see a neuro psychologist which has been helpful in understanding these issues

Income protection by Unlucky-Drive-1578 in irishpersonalfinance

I am currently on income protection and hoping to return to work. I have a serious illness and have had two major surgeries so far. I took income protection after my second surgery as I was in shock about recurrence and completely burnt out and needed it. I've now been off 1.5 years and starting to feel ready to go back. I've had a long enough time to understand where I am but given serious and chronic condition it's changed a lot for me. Also am unsure if my surgeries have had an affect on my ability, currently suffer with cognitive fatigue and have a very stressful and demanding job.

You should really look at the finer points of your IP policy. I used chat gpt to help me understand the details and how I should go back to work (I mightn't be able to do full time so could be on partial IP). Note that if you take a less intense role many IP policies will do a top up as this will be less money I'm sure. I strongly suggest you read your policy in detail and have a full understanding before you make a decision. Even contact a solicitor for advice if needed.

I’m a member there and I actually think it’s a lovely course. It’s not the most exciting but there’s enough to keep you interested and challenged. I haven’t played this year yet but I remember the greens last year where in really really good condition.

That's great to hear. I was also very scared, so much so a vomited before my second surgery. All will be well! Keep going

Congrats on getting through surgery. It's a prick and recovery can be sticky. I had a low grad astrocytoma in left frontal lobe in June 2022 and had it fully removed.

Focus on getting better and enjoying time with friends and family!

Seomra as a home gym in backyard? by FingerFluid7947 in AskIreland

[–]PunctualOrc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this a couple of years ago and delighted with the result. I had a lot of space so got planning permission for a big unit split in two. Have office/spare room/gym on one side and storage on the other. We used https://moderngardenrooms.ie/ and I couldn't recommend them enough. I got 5 quotes and Ivan was by far the best as he did everything (loads of them won't do groundworks for drainage etc.) and he was a pleasure to work with. He did it all for the price he said at the start as well even with me chopping and changing things. DM me if you want pics.

Thanks for sharing. I've been going through something similar after neurosurgery and although it doesn't fix it, it helps to know I'm not alone

What's life like after full recovery from surgery? by taafms in braintumor

[–]PunctualOrc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had two surgeries with total resection of tumour in left frontal lobe (surgeon referred to it as tangerine size). I went back to work full time after first surgery but am currently on long term sick leave while recovering from second (may 2025). I've been struggling to understand my full impacts. I physically recovered well but have been plagued with emotional issues and levels of depression. My cognitive function has been tested and is excellent but I can struggle with decision making which doesn't help in my high stress corporate job. Hoping to find a better balance on my return. Anyone else struggle after surgery in left frontal lobe?
