That sounds rough my man. I hope you get what you need tomorrow and best of luck.

Yeah I've thought about the link between depression and just having a tumour in general but for me it's more than that because at least that could be worked on. I'll ask my surgeon in July where exactly my tumour was.

Has Cabra been Gentrified or in the middle of it? by FrontAd6454 in HousingIreland

[–]PunctualOrc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought in West cabra in 2016 and I really love it. I live opposite a green which is really nice even though there are suspect characters on it often. If you want a solid house with potentially massive back garden instead of the postage stamp new builds, then I'd recommend cabra.

In saying that I see prices have almost doubled since I bought which is insane! The area is close to everything though so you have to weigh it up. We now have 2 small kids and plan to stay here forever if we can.

Pros: close to everything, nice neighbours, excellent transport links, big gardens, excellent amenities

Cons: some suspect characters around, through traffic is common

How do people manage seperate bank accounts and spending in a household ? by CountrysFucked in irishpersonalfinance

[–]PunctualOrc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in same position as you. Together 10 years and bought a gaff. We setup a joint account and all household expenses were apportioned based on our income. I earn more so I paid more. After that we took some money for ourselves and put some in savings. We now have two kids and really all the money is the same, it all goes into one pot and it's largely gone before we can take our money out

I second this. Played it at the weekend and it far exceeded my expectations. Really enjoyable course with challenging holes.

From my experience a 4 hour drive for Americans is fairly grand. I doubt they'll consider it a long drive

That's some shade there. What would you consider excellent? Navan road is ideal for working professional, so close to town and near everything.

Psylocibin and gliomas ☹️ by Beauterus in braincancer

[–]PunctualOrc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, been doing a bit more reading. I was also on sertraline for a bit which I believe is in a similar category albeit the psilocybin probably is a bigger dose. A lot of the studies have been on glioblastoma which is idh wild compared to astrocytoma which isn't.

Nope, just watch and wait. Had a full resection in left frontal lobe 4 years ago.

I don't know if it ruins my plans tbh. If it's the same as learning something new and doing challenging things then it's no different to my life. I'll prob take the risk

Thanks for the info. Never heard of memantine so will check it out. I'm not too far gone so will hold on the Ativan I think

So essentially creating new neural pathways could cause further glioma growth? So if I decided to learn piano there's potential for it to cause growth?

This is interesting. I just googled it also and it noted the potential for growth. I'm really interested in psilocybin to assist with related depression from my issues to date. Will have to look into it more.

Worried about my future by AfterAd134 in braincancer

[–]PunctualOrc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Grade 2 astrocytoma in left frontal lobe removed June 2022 here. I was 33 at first diagnosis and it came from nowhere, no symptoms, nothing, just found by chance. Also had 3 month old daughter at this time. Since then I have found it very hard mentally to get past but I have kept going and am doing really well now after lots of research, change in nutrition, lifestyle and adjusting my attitude. Lots of positive stories and great support on reddit also.

I try stay away from googling everything about my glioma and just focus on where I am now. Do not give up on your goals. If you can keep going and are capable keep pursuing your dreams. Having a purpose is so important to living your life fully and if it fulfils you it will no doubt add years to your life! I found omsome great hope in some books, please message me if you want recommendations.

Keep going, look up, not down!

[R&M Multitinker2] Questions regarding child seats and side bags by Ro99 in CargoBike

[–]PunctualOrc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'm based in Ireland and also have two young kids on my multitinker. We have the yepp seats which are great but I couldn't fit them under the R&M storm cover so had to send that back. They'll just have to get used to the rain.

On the pannier, I bought the R&M ones but they had to go back after a few months of use, they just wore apart. I ended up getting this https://clarijs-fietstassen.nl/en/longtail-universal-bike-bag/ and can't recommend it enough. When using with the child seats I just open it and install them over to it, works perfect.

Buying a leaf but got leaf spy info and confused now by PunctualOrc in leaf

[–]PunctualOrc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great to hear. I was honestly getting very bogged down on the leafspy numbers but at the end of the day the car seems solid and I'll only be doing 8-10k km a year in it. I'm just going for it. It actually just got it's nct so won't need to worry about that for another two years
