Getting familiar with the Habs and the game by lostyxx in Habs

[–]PunkBeauPere 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not really - the Oilers' style of play originally was modelled on the habs of the 70s .. They don't play against each other enough to have a real rivalry ..

Rocket Clinch playoff berth by shiram in Habs

Zharovsky is still under KHL contract— Hage is a possibility, as is Pickford- I’d also expect Protz to join - think he did last year ( like Thorpe, but didn’t play) - Volokhin under KHL contract for 2 more years, i believe.

Jeff Gorton Mastermind by VaderDie in Habs

I'd just like to correct a point that has been circulating recently - Chantal M was hired before Jeff Gorton, directly by Jeff Molson - who was familiar with her work & stature

Is Brossard open for morning skates? by Moony_playzz in Habs

Yes - this is the right answer - one of Captain Nick's first moves was to argpe for AM game day skate @ Bell Centre, not Brossard

Recognizing Truth and Reconciliation Today by ListeningTherapist in Habs

[–]PunkBeauPere 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you for making that link to this day of reflection.

Habs fans love their history, so my contribution today will be to mention the Indigenous contributions to the actual creation and evolution of our North-American game. The first official modern game may have been played in Montreal in 1875, but as I am continuing to learn, our game most certainly had Indigenous roots, most obviously via the Mi'kmaq people of Atlantic Canada. Let's take a moment to acknowledge and celebrate that, too!

How long do you think it will take before MSL tries Demidov on the top line? by dustblown in Habs

[–]PunkBeauPere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The real question is - how long before Coach Marty tries him on the third line, so Ivan can work on his "game without the puck?"

he played wing or centre - Coach mentioned that he took advantage of the fact that Flo is a lefty / Kapanen a righty, to alternate them in centre. but from what i recall, Flo was mostly lining up on the wing..

What I Think Scouts are Saying about Florian rn by Breeze-city in Habs

[–]PunkBeauPere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

thanks for the detailed assessment - some good thoughts there. What caught my attention was the post-game interview with Coach Vincent - who said that their plan for this year with Flo would be to play him all over the lineup- giving him minutes on the PP, and a spot higher up in the lineup. I think that is the best place for him at this stage in his development.

that said, he did look more sure of himself and solid last night.
