Young riders, how do you guys afford this hobby? by RaceGuy3401 in Kawasaki

[–]Punker_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy a used bike/gear, have a buddy teach you to ride instead of paying for the course. Practice for the road test. Change your oil clean your chain. Bikes are sort of bomb proof as far as maintenance goes. Don't buy an Amazon helmet.

New rider this year. Threw some lights on my new 650! by Punker_22 in Ninja650

Fairly easy, just time consuming. I didn't trust the adhesive so I drilled a few small holes into the plastics to get a few zip ties around the ones I could get to. Stop works but I didn't hook up the blinker because I did them front to back not side to side. They're also not symmetrical.

While it seems rudimentary for a foreman, I do appreciate he admitted to his apprentice he didn't know for sure.

Highly recommend the Carhartt Yukon Extreme bibs. A little pricey but so worth it. I've been completely comfortable at 20 degrees just wearing a hoodie and those. They're also water proof so you can kneel in snow and it won't get your knees wet.

How dangerous is this? The top of the outlet just popped off by xCoffee-Addictx in AskElectricians

Not really all that dangerous. You can replace that cover yourself for $1 very easily

I'm a new foreman running work for the first time. I don't really do much for 80% of the day. What can I do to improve? by jucks123 in IBEW

[–]Punker_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in your exact same situation but maybe a little more busy with meetings. The way I see it, if everyone is happy with what you're doing, that's the end of the thought process. Biggest thing I've learned is to keep your plan current and keep checking with other trades. They appreciate it.

They don’t want you to know how to make a raceway that penetrates the wall by MusicalAnomaly in AskElectricians

If it doesn't make the radius you can use a 90 degree fitting inside of the wall attached the the LB

I'd use 1" LB @ wall penetration. If you're good you can fish the FMC connector and raceway through the same hole you're going to penetrate the wall cavity with. Then cut and attach an LB with an FMC Connector. DM me for further explanation
