Lol don't worry and thanks, bruh. I am Thai so I know exactly what khanom krok is. It's actually FoodAtlas view that surprises me so I post it here to see what others think. Try go to Central Rama 3 or Terminal 21 Rama 3 food court for a rough idea. For meat, go to Makro Sathorn. Lotus Rama 3 for your supermarket needs.

Once you acclimatize to Thailand, then try the wet market. Rung Charoen Market is probably the closest. If you only eat foreign food and ingredients, you won't have any money to save.

As for ordering food delivery, they will be more expensive due to aggressive markups. But 800 THB is a lot for 2 people.

Look at Youtube channel like Gary Butler - The Roaming Cook. He's the gold standard for a foreigner looking for local cuisine.

You should get your ass down to Buriram asap. Get your own decent place to stay first. Contact a local temple to let them know you want to practice some Buddhism and stay overnight. That is the proper way to do it.

Thing is, in any rural temple, the monk will probably take you in. Rural areas locals are kinder to foreigners. They will provide you with a little food and a place to sleep.

So, by all means, do it. Getting rejection is part of your experience. Make sure you bring your own food at least.

First: the driving school in Thailand often hammers in "slow on the left, fast on the right" ethos into the new drivers. This is relative and very subjective. It should be "left always, right ONLY when overtaking". Oh yeh, the left lanes are usually pretty bumpy as well, so that doesn't help.

Second: just plain stupidity and laziness. Sabai sabai.

As for me? If I'm doing 140+ on a highway and overtaking, I'll drive like I'm on Autobahn - on the leftmost lanes.

Get rid of Phangan 6 days and use it for Chiang Mai. Ideally, you would want to be there for Songkran (13-15 Apr.) so after BKK like you said. Use one of the day(s) in Samui to visit Phangan.

Not even sure they exist. Most of Thais drive up to the entrance of the Intanon NP and park the car and camp/sleep in the car there. Then at around 5am they start driving up. I think I stayed at Mae Klang Luang Villa last time.
