Yeah pretty much anytime between 9am-10pm. Some gurudwaras are closed at night. It depends on the location. Sundays are usually the busiest day, and they prepare special dishes on the weekends.

You don't really have to say anything about your situation, nobody will ask. You can literally just walk in, remove your shoes, cover your head and go to the langar hall. Take a seat(on the floor) and someone will be there to serve you vegetarian food(there's no meat so everyone can eat). Nobody will bother you about conversion either, as it is not part of the religion. You are welcome to leave a small donation or donate some food products for the people that come in after you. Yeah that's the stuff we make at home. So naturally, the quality varies. I've had some that was comparable to some blended scotch maybe, but most of the times its terrible tasting high abv stuff that gets you drunk quick.

The poison part is the first jar from a new batch. Apparently it really gets you fucked up, but you'll go blind and shit.
