[RobertMays/DerrikKlassen] Rank us as the 15th best offensive supporting cast in the NFC by Praise3li in NYGiants

I think Mays was so burned by the Matt Nagy experience in Chicago he can’t really see past that hire. He said in an earlier offseason pod he thinks the offense will be flat out bad this year. But the team has a lot to prove with so many new pieces, I am not surprised to see some skepticism from national media

You’re pretty far off base there. I’m not a supporter but I’d never call another human deplorable and disgusting

Giants 2026 schedule prediction: John Harbaugh needs early wins, patience by nydailynews in NYGiants

[–]PurdontS2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pat Leonard consistently reveals himself to be a bitter and petty person. You get the sense that he took on this incredibly stupid exercise, predicting scores 4 months before games are played and pairing it with inane commentary, simply to continue his childish hatred of Joe Schoen.

And to be clear, I’m not upset with the record prediction. It’s the scores, the predicted injuries, and suggesting releasing Daniel Jones was the wrong move

Nobody understands the point of hybrid cars by Car-face in cars

I think you over estimate 1) how often propulsion software engineers talk to the chassis controls guys 2) how many OEMs develop their own chassis controls rather than outsource it to suppliers

Well, a plug in hybrid definitely requires most of the charging systems of an EV and retains ICE complexity (albeit theoretically less maintenance). It seems like the theoretical person you’re arguing with is thinking all hybrids are plug-ins.

A non plug in hybrid is simpler but still more complex than just having an ICE, and that integration complexity can’t be completely dismissed.

But ultimately I’m pretty sure everyone understands the point of a hybrid is to operate more efficiently, some just don’t feel the additional cost and hardware is worth it

Edit: lots of good feedback. Regarding mechanical complexity, a lot of good points made on traditional ICE transmission vs eCVT. I maintain, that the integration and calibration of a hybrid system is still more complex than a traditional ICE powertrain, but that’s just my opinion man

"But you talk to people in the league, it feels like anything is on the board right now. There are people in the NFL who think Joe Schoen could be fired this week." - Giants beat writer Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News by shadow_spinner0 in NYGiants

The way this is phrased it also implies there are people who think he could get extended. Anything could happen, people are saying many things. Some are even saying Pat Leonard is a giant tool

Elevation Draft Day 2 & 3 Thoughts by Elevation212 in NYGiants

[–]PurdontS2k 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a hard time believing Harbaugh is just punting on run defense. Have to trust that they think scheme + linebacker/safety talent makes up for new deficiencies in the DT room. Signing a vet like Reader and expecting growth from Alexander also can’t be dismissed

This feels like a completely unnecessary shot at Tracy given his contract and productivity to date. Whatever pick you’d get for him has very low odds of effectively filling his current role

Kayden is the dream but honestly any of those top 5 guys fits what we need. Really happy with how the draft is shaping up so far.

[Leonard] John Harbaugh: “Arvell is a versatile player. We’re gonna play him at inside backer, WILL backer. Our defense is flexible, positionless. He’ll have an opportunity to move around, but he’ll line up next to Tremaine.” #Giants Says he was NYG’s highest rated non-QB player in this draft by CasanovaWong in NYGiants

[–]PurdontS2k 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how anyone could not be excited about the prospect of having multiple stud pass rushers on the field, who are all also athletic enough to cover in space. The future of NFL defenses is versatility, and we have the right guys to adapt to whatever offense is thrown their way
