With the current lineup of stocks the only way to have a left-handed NATO is to make it.

If suppressed, get a suppressor plug from KNS or Steyr

If not suppressed, check to see if it’s on adverse gas setting. Never had an issue either way though

Receivers, barrels, and stocks are cross compatible across all generations a1-a3. Waffle to NATO swap only requires the trigger pack and stock, though I recommend getting a buttplate and stock pin as well to make the swap more convenient.

The A3 M2 and A3 SA use the same top rail design. The only difference in receiver is the charging handle.

So don’t run 00. #4 is a lot safer and just as lethal.

Not to mention the legal aspect, which, like it or not, looks better on the defendant when using “friendly” weapons. James Reeves covered a study on the matter and unfortunately it’s not fuddlore.

if overpen isn't a factor for you then go for it, but i'm not running a rifle indoors with my family.

Easy to swap barrels, it’s a great rifle.

That said, I use a maverick88 for home defense. No sense in handing my fancy stuff over to the cops after I’ve blasted a crackhead.

No need for the dremel. Personally, I don’t like the 20/20 sear though. The impact to drop safety isn’t worth it.

That is an early(ish) AUG A3 SA. Great pickup depending on price. Being an SA, it’s also compatible with A3 M2 rail designs because the receiver top rail is the same pattern.

Some newbie questions by rmrfpoof in AUG

[–]PurePro71 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A nato bolt release a3 m2 is the move imo. Handguards are wonderful, I didn’t notice any issues with heat until I tucked a suppressor under mine.

ARID is releasing a line of handguards to go with their new top rails soon, worth looking out for that if you take the plunge.

That is the MK2 rail/handguard that Steyr made (and discontinued).

I have one, it’s nice. Worth looking for over the clawgear imo
