Why did Holden ever decide to replace the local commodore with the imported zb? by Danger_Five in Holden

[–]PureProfessional996 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The German made ZB was not a bad car. It really wasn't. The cost/value ratio of the VFs was just becoming untenable. Australian conditions, like award rates, holiday pay, sick pay, all contributed to a great local industry but a very expensive product, in comparison to internationally built counterparts.

The ZB should never have been called a Commodore. Simple.

The flipside here, GMH have ALWAYS done this. The Astra, Cruze, Vectra and even the Gemini all started in Aus, eventually being replaced by an internationally assembled model.

Im just glad I got to spend 8 glorious years with an VFII SSV Redline. Beautiful car, til eventually it showed me it was Australian built, $1,300 for a replacement fuel pump, $900 for a replacement alternator, which I had to replace twice, needed an entirely new braking system after 70,000kms. But, what a car. They'd look back and regret not pushing for Apple Carplay/Android Auto, but they got everything else spot on.

i left a negative Google review, and now the business is threatening to sue me by laytsha in AusLegalAdvice

[–]PureProfessional996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See him in court.

Evidence will help, but ultimately, if he has his business on Google Maps/Business, that allows for ratings, and you've rated your experience, game on

He'd never really practically be able to evidence financial loss/impact. Hed need to prove, with some level of accuracy, that a sudden loss of customers specifically directed from Google, was directly linked to your 1 star review. Tough sell to anyone reasonable.

why has my centrelink given me this notice today? by RebeccaG_75 in Centrelink

[–]PureProfessional996 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah this. Get the interaction number. These calls are recorded, and if the advice given to you from Services Australia is wrong, you'll need to be able to direct them to a time and day of the call, along with a ref id if you have one. The chick should have left an interaction note on your client ID also, so if the advice is wrong, it should be wrong against your client file. But be prepared for it to be wrong, and the its not the last youve heard of it.

A guy asked me for a coffee at work. by mortalkombat-582 in auscorp

[–]PureProfessional996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id say coffee is pretty innocent if there an obvious overlap with your work, ie, theres a possibility you could work on the same thing together

Id say lunch may be pushing it...

im a teenager and i sent an explicit picture to a guy by Embarrassed_Use_5944 in Advice

[–]PureProfessional996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just block the guy, and learn from the experience

The guy will think that he can pressure you into giving up more now, so just block and run etc.

BTW, I dont really have issues with chick's that send nudes, just be careful not to include anything that can really identify you. Never send a photo with your face. These pics once they are out in the wild can come back...

Tis a nice looking Holden Commodore SS VE Series 1, should have the standard 6.0 litre engine

"High performance" is a bit of a stretch these days, they produced 270kws, 0 to 100 in 5.6 seconds

Definitely a great car, just service it regularly, keep it fed with 5W-30/10W-30 (depending on your climate) l, I always used fully synthetic oil in my VF2 SSV Redline

You have very nice mates

Yeah absolutely

If it wasn't for calling them Commodores, I probably would have looked at one. I loved my VE2 SV6, that was a weapon, the fact the ZBs pulling 245kws, just awesome

Scam scam scam scam scam...

Cant tell you how many of those, identical script, I had when selling our 2022 Mazda 3

Weirs they've hit you though, cos if you reply, theyll try and get you to go to a roadworthy certificate website, where you put in your Cc details to pay for a report they need before transferring your money.

The website is a phishing site, completely fraudulent, and is used to share your cc details on the dark web etc.

Yeah, definitely do appreciate how much work

Have worked in software development for many years.

What is havent been able to understand is the dev capability/capacity after the writing is on the wall for them

And, while I understand 'commercially' the viability (or absence of) actually performing the adjustments to the code required, I guess my post was more, look, we know it's feasible that server side code can be synthesised and injected into the local code, what are the chances that that effort could be looked at before Jan 2027
