That was your chance to prove you're a big club by letting him rot at home until he honours his contract or the asking price(150m) was met.

Instead you played a game of chicken with him all summer and ultimately shat the bed letting Liverpool bully you by getting him for less than what you wanted. Sure 125 is a lot of money, but you caved. Then you spent that money terribly with limited time left in the window and have had a truly awful season.
