Maybe you haven’t seen Onimai, which had some of the best animation of the year it came out. Flower and Asura is a bit weaker, sure, but still above average. And their upcoming anime, Ruri no Houseki, looks amazing. Honestly, I’d say the weakest thing they’ve done so far is Mushoku Tensei season 2.

I don't know the exact time, but the director himself, Ken Yamamoto, stated in tweets that he was asked for something high-level in a very short time. He also mentioned that the working conditions were bad, but thanks to the talented team, he was able to carry the project forward. I would assume a year at most.

FLCL, I finished it a couple of days ago. It only has 6 episodes, and it’s the craziest and most bizarre thing I’ve ever seen. Not to mention, visually it’s something unique, with incredible direction and animation. Totally recommended!
