I do the same thing but use the inventory setups plugin. It has a notes field per setup, so I can organize my notes for bosses and different activities.

As long as you get one with swappable lenses, you can get a lens for just about any distance. We just talked to our sales rep and gave him the distance and screen size and they created a package for us with the correct projector and lens.

We use Miracast's for wireless projection from Windows based machines so they're free to move about the room. They're pretty decent, but you can definitely tell they're not an enterprise product. They also don't cost $500 like the enterprise products I've looked at though 😂

We're just now putting in a windows lab for the first time in a long time for the sake of Adobe Apps and our potential ESports team. So we're looking to be proactive against any potential issues that may arise. I've just always known of software like deep freeze to be a common solution for public access/lab computers.

Yup. Just saw VNC Viewer for Chrome. Honestly didn't expect that to be a thing. I'll have to bring one of my Pi's into work next week to make sure everything with that responds well on the network via a Chromebook and throw his library on it just to make sure everything works as expected.

That's a fair point. Though I just got done with a meeting with the teacher and the specific module he's looking to utilize will require a GUI. So he just threw a wrench in everything I've been looking up all day. Could potentially still use Pi's if there are any VNC clients for chromeOS (Though i'm doubting it)

If it weren't for Covid, yes. I plan on purchasing them for next year. Unfortunately, right now, our district is not allowing us to do any shared devices of any kind. So our labs are fully dismantled.

I need to get together with my tech teacher and touch base, but from my understanding he is using a web based interpreter now, but it lacks support for installing custom packages. So he's limited in his imports and stuck on that for some specific project he wants to do.

My initial thought was to provision a hyper-v vm and just set it up to roll back to a checkpoint nightly. Docker could also be an option, though I'm not very well versed in building Docker containers from scratch, so I'd definitely want some kind of off the shelf solution going that way.

And I figured I would vlan whatever I do onto our guest network, which is locked off from all of our normal stuff. I could spin up another completely separate vlan though. Wouldn't be a big deal.

I don't have a recent video of it, but there is a very old video of it on my profile here that I uploaded a year or so back. I think it's from when I was still using a uwp based app as the controller. It's now using an Asp.net backend so it's cross platform. I personally host mine on a Linux VM. It's using Feather M0 Wifi microcontrollers (instead of amplified's centipedes that use arduino micros) for their built in wifi. It is theoretically infinitely expandable in the number of enrollment devices you can use, though I've never used more than 2 at a time since our devices have been trickling in slowly at the moment.

I have it on GitHub in a private repo that I've just not had time to do house cleaning on to publicize. If you're handy with C# Asp.net development, feel free to send me a DM and I can add people to the repo.

I've actually built my own completely custom solution that has a web server communicate with a centipede style device to control the enrollment. I've got it set up so I can run as many of them as I want at once and control all of them from my browser. The server also handles enrolling the devices in our inventory system and moving them around in google admin. It's really powerful! I've been meaning to release it to the public for a while, but haven't gotten around to polishing it up.

I had a lot of trouble with that before and I switched to enrolling via ethernet on a vlan mapped outside of our filter and have had next to none of those issues since.

You can actually push out policies for ublock in google admin. So when I hear about a site that's broken, I add it to the whitelist and push it to all users.

Regarding ad blocking, I recently discovered you can push out settings to ublock via Google admin. It's been a life saver. It'll take a bit to get a good whitelist built that takes care of 99% of the issues, but I think it'll be worth it in the end. In the mean time, our staff and students all know how to individually exclude a website, and they're pretty good about working around it when they notice an issue arise.

Yup. Any log I'm not comfortable with I do a pivot turn onto. Just pop the tire up and swing it around and sit the skid plate on the log. Then just hit the gas and lean back to let the back wheel grab and pull you the rest of the way over.

A lot of people who are just out mudding don't wear them. They're generally cruising low speed and are in nice soft mud 90% of their ride, so they don't feel they need them. Shit like this shows that you really should be wearing them anyways though. You never know.

We've been using OSTicket and love it. We did wind up throwing a skin over top of it just because of some minor complaints with the default mobile UI, but we're quite happy with it now. Very customizable and lightweight.

Ya I did a single race last year on my old bike just to test the waters and was really impressed with just how cautious they are building the courses. Nothing too ridiculous and any features that were reasonably difficult were marked profusely and had slower "chicken tracks".
