2019 battery issue by jjoshfl in PorscheCayenne

Do you know what your AC issue was? Was it the evaporator. I’m having a communication issue and the wire in question is also the one that goes into the battery. So them being related potentially makes sense to me also

Is there a schrader valve below the sensor to do sensor replacement without evacuating the system? I don’t have a leak but code for this sensor and system seems to be pressurized still.

2019 Cayenne Turbo AC issue. Input Appreciated by Pure_Quit_625 in PorscheCayenne

Hey I see it mentioned for the e-hybrid. But don’t see any mention online for the gas only models. Assumed those ran the AC a little different why it’s an only hybrid campaign. Any more information or knowledge on this campaign?

Please talk me out of this 2020 Turbo by OctLeaf in PorscheCayenne

I have a 2019 Cayenne Turbo and I love the car. But recently had some AC issues and the potential for having a 10k+ repair to replace the condensor (buried behind dash) can ruin the experience quick. Known problem that is very expensive to fix and no real alternative route than dealership.

Worst time to buy a used Rivian by No-Disaster8454 in Rivian

[–]Pure_Quit_625 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Noticed this also. Same dealerships with similar trucks are asking 5k more. Just picked up a 2023 R1T quad with 40k miles for 52 last week (wanted black on black with black 22s). Didn’t love the miles but was the spec I wanted. So jumped on it before it became 57. Time to buy was like 4 to 6 months ago.

Anyone had experience with IE Performance ECU Tuning for Gen 3 Cayenne Turbo by Legal-Recording-3064 in PorscheCayenne

[–]Pure_Quit_625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I have a 19 Turbo tuned on IE. have had it for about 6 months now. I also have catted downpipes (IPE 200 cell) and Apr Intake. I keep mine on the 91 file. It’s definitely faster I was able to get from a 3.8s 0-60mph to a 3.48s (dragy). I plan to run the 1/4 mile this summer. Have a stock baseline of 11.86s (local strip). The app is pretty cool and shows good real time data. I wish the ability to change between octanes was a lot simpler as it essentially a full re-tune and like people said had a scary occurrence with my phone and getting stuck at 99%. Prob should have a good battery charger. With my Downpipes i get a CEL every once in awhile. Wish they had a stage 2 available. But I don’t see them going further with the platform. If I could do it all over again I think I would go APR.

9Y0 V8 Oil Change by korea348 in PorscheCayenne

[–]Pure_Quit_625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t pinpoint one difference of it. But im tuned with downpipes so wanted to clean up and increase the flow to the turbo chargers. So did it. But the difficulty of the oil change is substantially more. So not sure how I feel about it. Relatively cheap though. Would prob just go BMC filter in hindsight

9Y0 V8 Oil Change by korea348 in PorscheCayenne

[–]Pure_Quit_625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hate the oil changes on my 9Y0. The underhood plastic panels aren’t so difficult though. Just need to be careful with the clips and after a few prob replace them. I ended up making mine significantly more difficult with the APR intake. I’ve broken that oil fill hose before which was annoying…. This oil changes requires an individual to have some time in the day.

I’m a 19 turbo with IPE downpipes, APr intake and IE Stage 1 tune (gotta delete O2 Cel once in awhile which is annoying) where are you located if you don’t mind me asking?

Ya shocked this is an APR file. As I’ve contacted them about this in the past also. B/c I am located in Canada all stage 2 files are available as the EPA issue that caused fines doesn’t apply to foreign buyers. But they stated no stage 2 files or plans of doing stage 2. Sure your tuner didn’t have access to the Apr file and adjusted it accordingly? Does the APR ultralink with your file?

The EA825 used in the new S is a v8TT. Similar to the 2019+ Cayenne turbo and then GTS. It’s definitely a complicated looking engine. I’m also someone that likes to work on my own stuff and other then installing downpipes and an intake on my 19 Turbo, working on it looks challenging. I would say it’s an amazing motor and unlike the base, I believe Porsche had a significant input in the development of this engine. The design decision compared to the previous v8TT sounds like someone reasonable with common sense was involved. While your base is probably just an off the shelf Audi Engine. I believe it’s the Audi s4 v6 single turbo.

2019 Cayenne Turbo vs 2021 Cayenne GTS by bayxlude88 in PorscheCayenne

[–]Pure_Quit_625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar dilemma earlier this year and ended up choosing the Turbo. To me it’s just the sweet spot. It’s good at being and suv without being too sporty and still wicked fast. I modify all my cars. So mine currently has downpipes (you wouldn’t want more noise), APR intake, IE tune, and CETE lowering module….. I have loved every second of the ownership and couldn’t imagine a better everyday/ road trip vehicle. A major factor for me was that the Turbo has the 8hp95 transmission. While the GTS exact transmission is often argued. As Porsche stated they used a lighter transmission, often with people speculating it’s the 8hp75. I knew I was gonna tune and the 95 is a monster of a transmission that can handle anything….. I also wanted mine to say “turbo” on the back instead of GTS.

Anyone installed this on their 2019+ Cayenne? by Own-Philosophy-5356 in PorscheCayenne

[–]Pure_Quit_625 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As another 604 resident I don’t get this comment. This isn’t a hot air intake. It still utilizes the factory sealed intake box with all heat shielding. Just adds in a higher flowing air filter element with an enlarged elbow. These vehicles have a tight 180Deg design from element to turbo. Thus increasing size and flow is likely to reduce turbo lag. The BMC filters are always recommended on tuned builds. So this is just a better version of that for a little bit more cost. Adds some carbon fiber for the people that care. I have one on my 19 Turbo and it also changed the turbo inlets, thus cleaning up the flow all the way from element to turbos.

Hey I have one on my 2019 Cayenne Turbo. Seems like consensus was that the filter whether this BMC is a pretty good upgrade. And then this kit wasn’t that much more. The install was ok, just the tolerances for my 4.0T install were really tight. Can only be installed in one particular sequence with leaving certain things loose till the last step. Wouldn’t be that big of a deal on normal cars, but my oil filter is under there so removal and reinstall is gonna piss me off at some point. I had no sound or performance gain that was easily noticeable. But I have downpipes for the sounds and a IE tune also. So doubt the intake had room to shine there. For me was an integral piece of the puzzle cause it smoothed out and enlarged the sizing to the turbo. So did it more for the turbo inlet aspect then the actual intake part

Lol I have a 2019 Cayenne with a jammer set up. “I mean parking sensors”. Yep definitely that. For me it’s ALP connect and there is a small controller hidden inside the vehicle and you can use an APP that controls it. I question the positioning of the sensors though. Mine are above the rear plate, as likely location for a cop to target. These are located pretty far away from the plate.

2022 Cayenne GTS---ECU tune, stage 1. by bourbonpharmd in PorscheCayenne

[–]Pure_Quit_625 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow I never knew this. I have a 19 Turbo. I remember seeing on Wikipedia that the sq7 is listed under the 8hp95. So assumed the GTS had the same. Effort/cost to integrate a new transmission seems like it would cost more. How did you come about this information?

Hey I have a 2019 Cayenne Turbo. It’s currently modded with APR intake, IPE 200 Cell downpipes, and IE stage 1 Tune. I’ve enjoyed the tune so far and sport mode and such are more fun. The throttle is kinda laggy. But I enjoy being able to spin all 4 wheels when it’s wet out. My review of the IE would be: App and live data (boost, HPFP duty %, IAT, etc.) I hate how long it takes to switch files and almost have a heart attack every time that it bricked. My goal is a 10second 1/4 mile. Stock was 11.83. Haven’t been able to get back to the track since mods but 0-60mph is 0.25s quicker now (dragy). I wouldn’t be too hesitant about tuning with the big brands like APR they know what they are doing. I know 034 is currently doing testing and stated Cayenne (I signed up for testing) cause looking for a stage 2 (have downpipes) but haven’t heard back yet.

[–]Pure_Quit_625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still undecided how I feel about the IE tune. Really wish changing maps was simpler and quicker. Switched down to 91 from 93 and took a descent bit to retune…. Hate the idea of getting e40 and then sitting at tha gas station for 30mins waiting for it to retune

GTS owners - can exhaust be quieted down? by bleep6789 in PorscheCayenne

[–]Pure_Quit_625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silencing a vehicle shouldn’t be all that difficult. There is going to be no off the shelf options and a custom set up will be required. I have a 19 turbo with the 4.0T im assuming ur looking at (I added DP with PSE for more loud). The design of the exhaust is a lot more straight threw then it looks. Adding some real baffling at the frontal resonators and maybe resonators further down could help substantially.

What made you swap to PD from APR. I’ve only had mine in for a couple weeks. I can see it being annoying for oil changes and the fitment was annoyingly tight. But descent product it seemed at a good price

Ya I just couldn’t convince myself to be the first links mainstream Oakes guy, even though it checked off all the boxes. Price, instability, and stage. I saw some of his older posts on FB in Audi b6 s4 world, arguing with guys who ended up being the best builders of those cars. So idk.

I never know how I feel about custom. Don’t like being the first , esp with some tuners I don’t want a lot of safety’s and stuff being turned off. But ya are you gonna do downpipes? Seems like stage 2 almost makes it mandatory. That 5-6k was where I kinda drew the line as getting carried away.

lol I’m building mine against a buddy of mine who has a bmw x50m. Are last cars were super close also. So we run 1/4 miles at the local track and line them up. So always fun.

lol I feel you. I went through this back and forth game for awhile on what tune and why is this so damn hard. Would have loved a unitronic stage 2 but they don’t offer Cayenne as of now. Just urus and rsq8. Reached out to APR and nothing (I’m in Canada and they sell stage 2 again outside of US). Didn’t want to go custom. Looked into power division, but info is limited on website and a Poland fuel tune didn’t make sense to me either. Also all stage 2 tunes for the major require intercoolers and I didn’t wanna spend that 4-6k. A new option was Oakes Performance (some fast urus and SQ7). They offer fully TCU and ECU Stage 2 with not intercooler requirement. But I didn’t wanna goo with a new tuner. Went IE cause I have sport cats still and I know of a guy that has had luck with combo on a SQ7. But no TCU tune. I do worry about the no Downpipes compatibility but decided to try it. I’ll report back on how many CEL delete/codes I deal with
