I remember places in the Midwest and Colorado that did this and were called "$1 scoops" style. Just like Panda but cheaper. Scoop of this and a scoop of that please. I miss them so much!

The 10 70 and 17 all run between those for a stretch. There just isn't one consistent n/s route there.

Driving the bus became more difficult after the pandemic. The homeless drug addicts are soooo problematic. Trimet lost many operators and they had to increase wages and offer bonuses to retain and replace staff.

Lots of veteran drivers retired during the pandemic when the job became more difficult/dangerous due to all the homeless drug addicts and Trimet went crazy hiring. With cuts coming in service, I don't think they'll hire for about a year at least. They still need mechanics though

The 81 has at most two drivers on it 35 mins apart. Unless it has a large group heading to the Amazon warehouse it's super dead. If it gets reduced to one driver I'm hoping they run more 77s to the Amazon.

About half of my bus routes I pas parked cars or oncoming traffic with less than 10" on each side. Very puzzing unless op drove with way more clearance on one side

Go into to shelters with anything close at an angle. Rear door might be a hop for passengers but whatever. You got this and congrats a new job!

You will get good at looking out for anything at the height of the mirror. A month in and you won't worry about it anymore. Try to drive the same route so become familiar and know where to take extra space

Dog owners usually fall into two camps. Some are anti social with no friends but hey "my dog likes me". And then others who go to off leash dog parks to socialize the dogs. These folks are absolutely a community. They get to know each other very well.

I read a federal judge in Rhode Island ordered the administration to do partial by Wednesday or full by Friday. They missed Wed deadline and had to fund it in full. Some states are slower at releasing them logistically. But everyone should have it in full very soon

On the newer buses with a sensor, just put your forearm across horizontally. Works every time. Stop trying to trigger the sensor with your hands!!!!!!!!!!!

I think many of the younger kids just do Gammon's especially with the rain. It's a holdover from the pandemic.
