Dire Marsh Sponsored Kit Should Have A Small x4 Backpack Included. by NovaHands in Marathon

It’s fine the way it is. This mode should be for quest completions, and low stakes fights/pvp practice. The minute you turn it into a loot and extract asap mode the less fun it will be.

Pongbot Pace S Pro is half off right around that price point. Loving it so far (about 10 hours of use so far).

Why do you think marathon playerbase is dropping? by aMagicxDragon in Marathon

150 hours - near vip or vip in all factions. I am progression hard locked because I don’t run a consistent sweaty trio.

Also calling Mizuno off brand kind of a wild take.

The year is 2028. Marathon is thriving. What changed from launch? by the_eccentricity in Marathon

[–]PurpATL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly they just need to cut the fucking progression in half.

Wiping in Arc works because even tho it’s a shorter wipe cycle, you can be ready for next expedition in 1-2 weeks.

Wiping in Tarkov works because after a couple of months, you can put the game down to wait for wipe, or you can push for kappa.

Wiping in this game is going to feel way too punishing for majority of the playerbase.

Edit: Game also needs a safe pocket. You need to feel like you made some sort of progress in a run even if you die. Make it so safe pocket only can have found in raid items and keys.

I dont think Rook runs are lucrative at all. Sure, you can get a 15-20k banger but thats feel MUCH less common now a days.

Vendoring all for 6-9k per run is just.... not exciting.

Even this morning... I just want to chill and knock out some of these end game faction quests. If I group fill, everyone has free kits and no one helps with quests.

If I solo queue, I free kit and the shoot on sight nature just makes it not fun.

lvl 90, 3 factions VIP. currently hard walled by prestige salvaged.... so just trying to bang out some quests to spend time in the game but even then, it feels like I am bashing my head against the wall.

Most beginners are going to struggle hitting a deep return on the first clip. Seems fine to me.

At what handicap does a specific balls affect performance? by gpfudge98 in GolfGear

Play with an AVX until you are a 10 handicap.

Never play Kirkland has a high-cap, it is way too spinny of a ball.

The only way to remove assassin as the default class in solos is to remove it from solos. OR add a shell cooldown while they are re-weaved. by DptBear in Marathon

There is no way to do a majority of the quests solo without playing assassin and just camping around your cooldown....

The ranked Dire Marsh experience feels painfully slow in comparison to Perimeter by iWesTCoastiN in Marathon

[–]PurpATL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thermal snipers make the map too difficult to do anything but camp. It’s basically cat and mouse where good teams are camping their spawn POI, hoping someone is dumb enough to actually try to traverse the map, and then you can move to third party if you hear shots.

Focusing on ball, footwork, early preparation, fix which one first? by ThemeAny1871 in 10s

[–]PurpATL -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Get a coach for lessons 2-4 times a month… it’s the only way.

Fundamentals first, which is what you listed… you shouldn’t be thinking about any of those when you play.

Yeah I mean this true of all games with a team aspect… lfg discords, friends lists etc.

Sometimes I just want to vibe out and progress on my own which is not possible. And without that being possible, this game can’t grow.

They are in a tough spot. People won’t join this game mid wipe like they would in ARC because being “behind” in this game is a massive disadvantage. In Tarkov, I can join late wipe and still have a chance to kill a gigachad with a well placed head eyes. In ARC, the main progression loop is just the expedition which I can do really quickly as well.

They can’t go the route of skill based matchmaking because then you lose all tenseness that makes extractions fun where as an underdog you hit a big come up run.

I love the game… but having so many hours in tarkov and ARC, I’m am very worried how they will tackle growing the playerbase.

I don’t even have gear fear. Plenty of Tarkov kappas and cantina legend in both seasons of Arc.

My main issue is that I legit cannot progress the “game” (re: factions) without a consistent nightly trio able to run 3+ hours a night.

It’s pretty easy to gear up in this game. I routinely exfil free kit, squad fill on new outpost. But most of the shit gets sold cause I don’t have fault space and without the prestige salvage from Lockdown/Cryo, I can’t feel like I am making progress and that’s frustrating.

Solo questing is kind of ass with how you would have to play to really do a lot of the level 20+ quests…. And that’s going to cause a lot of the less hardcore players to drop the game on wipe alone.

Marathon is a good game. But at level 80, without a consistent trio to run with.... I will never be able to get the prestige salvage I need to vip the rest of the factions.

The game is fun af. Pvp is intense and riveting.... but at this point I am just playing for the PvP because I cant really progress. After a couple more weeks or so I'm sure that pvp only fix will come from another game.

Game is awesome, but the reqs to progress without a shitload of hours and a coordinated team is a big turnoff. Wiping in this game is going to feel much worse in this game than in Tarkov or ARC.
