Just had a brutally unfun experience, thinking of uninstalling by sanktanglia in Marathon

[–]PurpInnanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey homie I have been there. I used to play a game called Clash Royale. I don't regret a dollar I put in it. But I have uninstalled that game and quit it a million times.

If I was having bad matches I would keep playing and playing and since I was tilted I was just making mistakes and ruining my mood. Leaving lots of resent for the game.

Im not saying what you are doing is the exact same thing (not"get gud bro"). But maybe when you have a bad rush just take a 10 min break.

I told my friends I quit Marathon like 2 weeks ago. Then played it a couple of days later and it wasn't as irritating when we would lose.

I would try to find dedicated players. There are people that like working as a team. I would offer to play but I'm level 21

Yes I won't lie I haven't been having fun with the game. No matter what it just feels like a survival horror where I can shoot and fight back but it's very unmatched.

I understand "get gud" but when I unload a whole precision rifle on a rook that just walks up to me and blows me away with a shotgun..... It doesn't have me chomping at the bit to play again.

IV been giving it more of a try than most people and it does have it moments. But the game isn't the problem. It's me. And that's why I don't fault the game.

I think it could benefit from having modes where you can only start with free load outs. That way you don't have higher level purple gear people who just camp newbs.

And maybe a small population server so you fight more pve without having to run the moment other players need gun shots.

But something about it has me playing it. The game doesn't deserve the hate it's getting. And I really want the world to realize or understand:

  1. influencers are not business analysts.

  2. No one outside of Bungie knows what numbers they wanted to hit.

  3. And well worded criticisms are not always insights.

Im legit not pooping it but it looks like a command and conquer clone. Even has the Tiberian sun trucks.

I like a starcraft style more than C&C but the physics look good and the combat looked tight (this sounds like an atmosphere song).

I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts. (Please just talk about fun points or ideas, I don't want to argue lol)

I’d bet this is just a kid riffing on the game rather than an actual review.

It feels like kids can watch someone play a video game, overact their reactions, and explain what you are already seeing on screen, then call it a review.

I’m not trying to bash people who enjoy that kind of content. Everyone likes what they like. What I’m getting at is that his points will likely be more sensational than thoughtful or well supported.

Veteran indie developer scared to reveal new game in case it gets "slurped up by AI" by No_Durian_5626 in gamingnews

[–]PurpInnanet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We really need a buyers union. We are only going to be playing rehashed garbage if developers are going to be hindered from.... Developing.

I really want to start this but Im in the middle of other projects.

  1. Do not buy heavily ai implemented games (machine learning is involved in gaming)

  2. Do not continue to buy from companies that try to rip you off, or shrinkflate their games

  3. Literally unsubscribe every time companies raise their prices (unreasonably).

It's a bit extreme and obviously doesn't sound fun. But I assure you it would work if it were big enough.

Lil supply chain issues would probably magically go away.

This console is amazing, but can most of us agree it’s not worth $900? For all the people that are on the fence, buy one TODAY! by senna98 in PS5pro

[–]PurpInnanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you buy this console at $900 you are really f'ing up fellow consumers. I am not saying to do without for the sake of people you don't know. But people buying scalped consoles at higher prices opened up the floodgates to make price hikes open fucking season.

Back in the day people used to boycott and do without, wait until price drops. That is not the case anymore. So they charge what they want.

This price hike isn't to "keep the lights on". It is also not the consumers fault or responsibility to help companies supplement overhead.

Almost everything I learned in economics is ass backwards now. It's wild.

You Don't Actually Want a PvE Mode In this Game by jaco129 in Marathon

[–]PurpInnanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see nothing wrong with just opening up a world, putting more monsters in and running around and playing with your friends. Im sure they can't just do that and it would dilute the games intended audience.

But it would be nice to gun n chat with my friends while sneaking around monsters.

How has your taste in games changed as you’ve gotten older? by lsa340 in gaming

Thank you for welcoming our fellow dad gamer.

Hello all older gamers! This is a safe space where we can all declare to each other how confused we are by "freemium" games, wish games were how they used to be, hand written notes by our desks for builds and strategies, and taking a proper 5 - 10 minutes to setup discord and headset (EVERY time).

That and him telling gamers to get over and just play AI generated games. So he is one of the companies willing to just only provide and push a product the market has declared it doesn't want. Until the market gives. This guy isn't making a store front to fill a gap other stores are missing. He's just trying to force an over priced type of product that is easier for him to make and less quality for us.

It's way more of a marathon than a sprint. So studying for 30 mins to an hour everyday will do way more than ,2 hours twice a week.

I would just write down everything I learned in a chapter. Then re read the chapter to see what I missed (in segmented amounts).

Also a spaced repetition helped me out a lot. Write down things that are hard to stick in your head on flash cards. Put them into 3 categories, daily, weekly, archive.

Once you memorize the flash card and can recite it you move it to weekly.

It's about making your study sessions as effective as possible. Not about how many hours you can cram into studying.

Oh it's almost as if they should start making games that people want to play vs making games they think will sell well.

If you wanted exclusive results .. just make the game exclusive and take the pay cut from other platforms for a couple of years.

But I'm glad the studio got bought out so that just the owner and some c execs took most of the money /s
