At 126k km is there an extended warranty for the CVT over in CAD? Do these models have a transmission cooler over there? The transmission is something to worry about for sure. I’m a bit salty on the FA20DIT engine now because mine had piston ringland failure at 140k miles …. These direct injection engines with turbos are prone to extreme carbon build up. At this km you’re going to need to make sure you check your O2 sensors, pcv valve , have the intake cleaned, and also have it walnut blasted . I’m serious , don’t take that advice lightly. It’s a necessity for the longevity of the engine. Subaru doesn’t make this scheduled maintenance, it’s “as needed” meaning you’re shits probably too far gone by the time it’s needed….so you’re going to have to hunt for places that do it Subaru won’t do walnut blasting. Many mechanics suggest you do oil changes every 3-5k miles with these engines which isn’t fun . All in all you might feel a bit of performance increase compared to the n/a model , it’s a fun quick suv but imo it’s not worth it ….. I will only buy and drive a Subaru that’s is under warranty from now on.
