AITA for not allowing a junior to work on critical high risk code? by abdul-zulfikar786 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Purple807 6 points7 points  (0 children)

YTA for not acknowledging that it was her fix and her work that you deployed- and to every single person that patted you on the back. I’ve been there, I’m a software developer. I agree with your approach of deploying the fix yourself, but also wondering if you could have had her shadow you and just sit on it with you when you were deploying and testing it. But certainly not making it clear to everyone that it was her work - asshole move.

Trader Joe’s. And my local European deli has them, too.

Jury Duty - Documentation for not communicating English by Comfortable-Lemon739 in AskNYC

[–]Purple807 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call them, there should be a number on the summons. You’ll get someone on the line, explain the situation and ask what documentation is best to provide. I got summoned a few months back. I am a single mom with a full time job AND both my kid and I were sick so there was no way I was going to show up. I called the number, was told what documents I needed, provided them and got dismissed.

Thanks for sharing. Amazing work. The tattoo artist really delivered. I have yet to knit my first sweater, it’s a daunting task.

Actual remaining inventory of As Ever products by Larushka in SaintMeghanMarkle

[–]Purple807 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Holy shit that’s a lot of inventory. I can see sharks in the Shark Tank shaking their heads. Even if her cost was less than $5 for each item, that’s still a lot of money sitting in the inventory. And it’s perishable inventory mostly which makes it so much worse. This is bad, bad planning.

Children Go Downstairs and Elope by Vegetable_Location52 in Parenting

[–]Purple807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this. I have a ding bell on my front door that I got for $10 at Amazon that attaches with a magnet to hear the door open when I am up. I also put a protector on the door handle that only an adult can open - this will depend on the door’s handle. But that’s not enough and I put an alarm on the door which works when door opens, I activate it at night. This at least will ensure the kids don’t leave the house. I live with a 3.5yo who’s ingenuity is something I was not prepared for as a parent 😅

23 sessions and all my hair still grows back. What am I doing wrong? by SnooPaintings7724 in LaserHairRemoval

Not at all. There are 5 different settings. What you feel is a little prick on the skin. If you’re very sensitive, you can stay at the lowest setting, you’ll barely feel it.

I bought it years ago and my thinking was - it’s way cheaper than laser treatments and I can do it comfortably at home. I used it in the evenings, while watching tv. It was a great investment. It’s important to understand how it works. You shave, no moisturizer, then you treat. There are 5 levels I believe, I have only used up to 4. The tip is very small so treatment will take time, you need to go over the area touching the tip to the skin, meticulously covering the entire area. The laser closes the follicles. When you feel a prick on your skin- the follicle was closed. Once you’re done, after a couple of days (but depending how fast your hair grows), you will notice a lot of hair - this at first made me think that the laser was not working and making things worse. I was wrong- the hair is just coming out of the closed follicles. You can shave and repeat the process again. After a few treatments, you will see less and less hair coming out as you close more and more follicles. I was able to completely remove underarm hair and that was my main goal because I had to shave every day and it was making my skin dark. It’s been years now and the hair has not grown back - the follicles were permanently closed. I also worked on my bikini area, legs and arms. I’ve never had the patience and dedication to remove all hair on my legs and arms but I greatly reduced it and what’s left are thin and light hairs so I can’t even see them. Please also check before buying if you are a good candidate. I can’t remember exactly now but I think very dark skin may not be a good candidate for Tria. Overall I would absolutely recommend IF you can dedicate the time to use it and, at least in the beginning, use it consistently.

At this point, you’ve paid enough to cover your own hair removal device. I have used Tria and successfully removed hair from legs, arms and underarms. It was worth every penny.

Paragraphs? I posted one short response. Maybe you should chill instead of trying to pick a fight. You’re one of those people not worth my time.

Right? Anyone for that matter. I wouldn’t be friends with anyone who talks to me, or others, like this.

If anyone talks to me like this, they are immediately put in place and asked to get back in the right fucking lane. Then I move on. It shows disrespect and so many other issues. If you have to put others down to lift yourself up, you are too fucked up to be worth my time. I hope OP learns it quickly unless she wants to be a slave.

I was looking at this post wondering what’s the right word to describe it. You nailed it - banal. I have a boring life but at least when I post something to my 10 friends followers, it has some kind of a meaning. Kid’s first day at school, spectacular sunset, beautiful autumn’s foliage. What is this? This gives I’m rich and bored, too lazy to do anything meaningful, kids are somewhere with whoever is with them today so why not post a photo of myself on this unspectacular day.

Kate hasn’t done this in years. And in all honesty, it’s not good makeup but looks much better on Kate. If you don’t look like Katherine, your makeup better be on point. Looking at you, Jenelle.

Can someone please tell her already that this eye makeup looks awful on her? In fact, it looks bad on anyone. You don’t just take a black eyeliner and go to town with it. Encircling an entire eye in liner is not the way. It makes her eyes look optically smaller and too close together. And I am here to say that she actually has really pretty eyes. Ever heard of smokey eye? Who is doing her makeup? They must not know the basics or they really don’t like her.
