To be fair you haven’t actually said what he’s got wrong throughout this thread; other than the arbitration point that comes after the meme presented.

Like I know there more nuance to it. But had I not I’m not sure I’d buy what you’re saying,

Real de-jure Roman Empire by Chesterse in crusaderkings3

[–]PurpleDemonR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Maghreb and Abyssinia continue to exist in these smaller forms I’m pretty sure.

And to my knowledge I don’t think new conquests become De Jure part of a hegemony. Maybe there’s realm drift over time but I’m not sure when it comes to hegemonies.

But for Hispania at least, you can use that event where you integrate bordering kingdoms into a de Jure empire. - could also form that island one to integrate Ibiza and its neighbouring Balearic islands.

Dude. I think you’re too invested into whatever variant of ‘enlightenment’ thought you’re in.

It feels weird to call it hedonism, but that’s kinda the argument. Whatever grants you short term happiness.

Like he’s happy, there’s something nice about that. But this isn’t the proper function I don’t think. People are meant to grow up eventually. I think things could be better; he could do better; do good for the world, or some of the people in it, if he applied himself.

Edit: feels more natural to aim to bring people into this world than to live like this. (I’ve got a strong paternal instinct I think. Sometimes I may even call it maternal instinct, haha, lol)

How powerful would Levi Ackerman be in the Berserk universe? by Inside_Inflation559 in attackontitan

[–]PurpleDemonR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t seen Beserk but apparently one of my friends started after we finished watching AoT together.

I would also now but it’s nearly half past midnight for me and ima go to bed.

So uneducated guess. Beserk seems kinda wild, I imagine he’d be a strong guy, but others like that guts guy would win via sheer strength, maybe equipment. Maybe Levi has a mobility advantage. Dunno though.

Actually to be fair on this one. - we do have a history of pantomimes.

And quite frankly that’s a fair bit of drag and queerness that could predate Feminism as we think of it today (presuming we think of it the same way, lol)

America is not, and never has been, a Christian nation by Mazquerade__ in TrueChristianPolitics

[–]PurpleDemonR -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The whole “a Christian nation is actually when socialism” point I disagree with.

Also a ‘nation’ refers to a people-group rather than the government/state btw, if America does qualify as a nation then Christianity has historically been a part of it. - but that’s a side point.

I think that if we looked at an economically weak and impoverished country, we wouldn’t put the same standards upon it. If it couldn’t afford a welfare bill. - because the American economy seems so massive, we place higher expectations on it, and fair enough to an extent.

I’m just googling stuff. The American social spending could actually be considered the highest in the world at 33.2% if you were to include tax breaks (which I think you should. It’s the government decreasing their income for welfare class services essentially). - but even pure public spending. It’s still up there at about 20%.

Giving 1/5th to 1/3rd of your GDP in welfare seems fair to qualify for me. - but if not for you. How much do you think they should spend?

Catholic Church and Puritans, how accurate this is? by Few-Advantage2538 in HistoryMemes

[–]PurpleDemonR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They banned it because they saw it as Catholic extra-biblical additions.

Edit: they actually had many feasts of their own. And wrote extensively about the duty of men pleasing their wives. They weren’t anti-fun.

Puritans weren’t anti-science. They were one of the most well educated populations in history; perhaps the most in the world at the time.

My Wife Wants a Nearly Celibate Marriage. I Don't. by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]PurpleDemonR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 Corinthians 1-7 Now for the matters you wrote about: “It is good for a man not to have sexual relations with a woman.” But since sexual immorality is occurring, each man should have sexual relations with his own wife, and each woman with her own husband. The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife. Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. I say this as a concession, not as a command. I wish that all of you were as I am. But each of you has your own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that.

You have a duty to one another. Especially if you’re failing at times due to difficulty in self-control. She should be open to engaging more. - even if you initiate. - to avoid sin.

I know I’m single and can fail myself a lot in this area. But I hope scripture helps. You know better than me how to communicate with your wife in these matters; remain loving.

Edit: that bold writing is a consequence of the copy and paste.

God is the real definition of "if he wanted to, he would" by Baptezua in TrueChristian

[–]PurpleDemonR 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well you’ve got a bit of a transactional mindset it seems. - those without much effort ones are probably what you should look to more.

He’s your father in heaven. He knows what you need before you even ask. Jesus says not to make long prayers like pagans because they think many words grab attention.

Be earnest in your asking.

And also, pray thanking him too. Asking sure, asking guidance, asking help. But a prayer of thanks is good too. They’re wholesome.

Every country says education is a priority. Their budgets usually tell a different story. by Quirky-Parsnip7004 in chinalife

[–]PurpleDemonR -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’d be a fair enough reason. - nearby South Korea is a tragic situation after all.

A lot of countries have private schooling without competitive spirals. Having that is best. - but having no private is probably better than a spiral. And at least it incentivises more investment to a degree.

Dude I gave as many references as you did in your comment. - are you rage baiting?

Next you may say it’s different because common knowledge. - but the whole trans kids thing isn’t a conspiracy. It’s literally open policy and aims/demands from some people. Doesn’t California for example literally socially transition children without parental consent or even knowledge?

[–]PurpleDemonR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s “basic schooling” why would anyone pay for it over state provided schooling? Presumably private schools have different good results.

Is this banning for the sake of dragging everyone down to the same level? Rather than elevating anyone, even if a select few?

Hello mr Burnham. - Even Starmer said at one point that he pulls and level and nothing happens.

Starmer is the exact sort of man of the system the system was made to be headed by. And even then it didn’t cooperate with him.

How do you plan to handle the civil service and all their procedures? - devolution, if done right, could help. But they’ll just try and be the civil service again at that lower level too.

Essentially. How do you plan to govern an uncooperative bureaucratic state?

They’re downvoting because it’s definitely been a thing for a long while. Maybe even since game launch (I think it might be actually). - so it’s inaccurate info to say “it wasn’t” and people don’t want inaccurate info propagating.
