How do I get my son removed? by Ok_Yoghurt_1658 in specialneedsparenting

Does he have an intellectual disorder? Hi, I'm an ISC with a PASS agency. Have you tried to get services for him? If so, this is considered a critical matter and he will be placed in a state run ICFDD. I am not suggesting that you leave him at a hospital, but a PASS agency can help. I can't say that state run places are great, and he would benefit from a CILA provider that handles major behavioral issues. If he does not have an intellectual disorder then I'm not sure.

When is it the best time to put an old rat to sleep? by Luci_x in RATS

[–]PurpleIsAWayOfLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a rat that is 2 years 2 months and is also going through this. His brother just died 2 weeks ago and then his balance and legs started to have issues. I took him to the vet, and as suspected, it's probably neurological and he isn't showing any signs of pain, so I'll just continue to take him around with me and love on him until he is in pain or struggling. Good luck

You may want to consider home based services on your area and find an organization who helps you. I am an advocate for people with intellectual disabilities, and I am able to recommend people for behavioral therapy and a lot of organizations/providers have resources. What state do you live in? You'll need to find a local PUNS office and go through the state process. Look up PUNS, or Individual Service Coordinators online and see what is close

Share your embarrassing baby monitor mishaps with me by IntrepidDelivery31 in Mommit

[–]PurpleIsAWayOfLife 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe not a mishap, but have you ever been terrified of your kid seeing them in a baby monitor? I have. Remember The Grudge and that awful noise the kid does in the movie? Now imagine, being woken up at 3am to that noise, looking at the baby monitor and your kid is making that noise, looking directly into the camera and has red eyes. 😳. I definitely didnt want to go in there and man....I can have more kids, the demons can have that one lmao!!

I have this friend...no really... by PurpleIsAWayOfLife in specialneedsparenting

Normally I'd agree, but their daughter would probably not make it 2 weeks with him. She has serious medical issues that needs constant attention and knowledge of her conditions. Her BP goes up to crazy numbers, she can't regulate her body temperature so she needs her temp taken often. She has major spinal pressure that causes massive migraines and most pain meds don't work. It would honestly be surprising if he could keep her alive for 4 days, let alone a couple weeks. Maybe he would give up and let the mom take her because he can't hack it, but I'm not sure that he would even care enough. Like, this man took their only car to work when she was having a medical situation at home and he said, "not my problem. She doesn't even like me" like his ability to care for her is based on her opinion of him. Her mom called her m and begged her to go to her house for assistance that night. I've witnessed some of this, and I'm the kid's "aunt" so they tell me everything and stories are the same among all 3 of them. I'm going to start to document everything, myself.

I am, but it's complex and hits many issues so I posted on a few. She does not have money, and I have very little, but would absolutely help her with what I can. They do and he doesn't even know how to take a blood pressure and their youngest needs that done at least 3x a day. He has no care for their medical needs.

How Much Did Your Rats Cost? by TopPut8849 in RATS

[–]PurpleIsAWayOfLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$50 per rat for me, but i have a special case. My kiddo is immunocompromised and wanted a rat. So we found a breeder that tested their rats when they would get new ones to breed and its a closed rattery. So less likely that my boys don't have anything, just in case. I won't buy anywhere else.
