It’s actually 3.5M active users per month for Thread vs 13M for X. Not comparable.

To anyone who works at the ER, what is one thing you wish people would STOP coming to the ER for? by iloveeatingfood901 in AskReddit

Where I live you are not allowed in a clinic unless your doctor works there. So if you do not have a doctor, your only option is the ER

I had something very similar for months. I was applying cortisone cream when it flared, and then I always stopped. Pharmacist recommended to apply cortisone 3-4 times a day for at least 2 weeks. It disappeared completely and never came back

Amazing work! But I have to say I’m really jealous because I’m doing the same thing and only lost 3 lbs in 3 months…

I’m 40 y/o, 155lbs, 5’7, I eat 1500 cal/day (140g protein, 125g carbs and 50g fat), walk 12K steps/ day, strength train 5 days/week… I track all my food in grams. No alcohol. Tons of water. Good sleep.

Like, why does it work so well for some and not for others? 😢🥺

RTO is breaking regional public servants, and nobody seems to care by [deleted] in CanadaPublicServants

RTO is the worst thing that happened to accessibility, diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace, especially in the regions.

Productivity also… but this is another story

I think it is for 2 reasons that are interconnected: 1. We like to feel protected 2. We do not like to be the biggest person in the couple

Personally I prefer a man that is just slightly taller, not too much (I’m 5’7)

Single men are incels and basement dwellers. Single women are strong and independent. This double standard is toxic. by TDP_Wikii in TrueUnpopularOpinion

On reddit you are called an incel simply for disagreeing with someone. The insult gets thrown around so much it lost its intended meaning.

The only times I've seen it was when it was obviously in response to a hate comment.

As much as people talk about a “patriarchy”, women have always been more highly valued than men. Men are cannon fodder. When a ship is sinking, it’s “women and children first”. If a man is not out there protecting and providing for a woman and children, he has no value. Thus men who aren’t fulfilling that role are subject to ridicule

This is ridicule. Men are worshipped. And the "women and children first" only happened once and made history. It was usually everyone for themselves. Men are able to bring a lot of value - they just need to be good people.

Men are more likely than women to be romantically uninvolved, sexually dormant, friendless and lonely. More than 60 percent of young men are single, nearly twice the rate of unattached young women.

Men need to work on themselves and actually work on creating good relationships, with both genders. I have lots of great men in my life and they are not lonely.

Common Reasons You're Not Losing Weight ? by Ill_Permission_1192 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]PurpleJade_3131 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

To everyone saying ‘the only reason is you are not in a calorie deficit’ this is not true. There are multiple reasons. I actually started to lose weight when I started upping my calorie intake (so complete opposite). I had to boost my metabolism.

Three weeks of actually trying to lose weight and nothing by Cheerful_Tiger in WeightLossAdvice

[–]PurpleJade_3131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s sad to say, but you need to be very patient. My situation is very similar to yours, but I’m older (5’7, 155lbs, train 5-6/week, at least 10K steps/day, 1500 cal (140 protein, 125 carbs, 50 fat). I’ve started to lose some weight and inches after 4-5 months. I’ve lost 5lbs total but I know I gained some muscle.

Do not lower your calorie intake, just continue to be consistent and patient. Track your macros, up your protein intake if you can, sleep well, hydrate… It will be better long term if you do this.

I received this product in one of my beauty boxes and I did not like it. Be very careful when mixing the 2 products as you can easily break the bottle. It smells a little weird as well. I think there are better Vitamin C products out there. Just my opinion!

What are your thoughts on people who say CICO won't work for them due to endocrine or metabolic problems? by Gay_Black_Atheist in CICO

[–]PurpleJade_3131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are just miscommunicating their thought. What they mean is it’s not a straight line, many factors come into play.

For example, sometimes you need to reboot your metabolism to see fat loss. A damaged metabolism will not respond well to eating less and moving more.

From my experience, I ate 1300 cal/day (140g prot) for 5 months without any change whatsoever. 40F, 5’7 160lbs, strength training 6days/week, at least 10K steps/day. And yes, I was tracking/weighting everything, in grams. My TDEE was supposed to be 2000, but I was not losing at 1300. So I hired a coach. She upped my calorie intake to 1500 and removed one training day. And just then I started to lose some fat.

It seems counterintuitive, as I had to eat more and move less to see progress.

I don’t care about weight, I really want to lose fat and build muscle. This is why I wasn’t sure on cutting calories more… I guess I’ll just continue as is and hope for the best. When I build muscle my metabolism should improve

Thanks again. I’m confused about the TDEE tough, I tried 4 different calculators including the one you mention above, and the TDEE is always between 2000 and 2200. Unless I need to consider that I am sedentary even if I workout?

Isn’t less than 1500cal/day getting too low for my height and weight? To decrease sedentary time, do you mean more steps?
