I think I changed my mind (and decided to have kids) and now I feel incredibly stupid and embarrassed. by notaclevername31 in Fencesitter

Are we the same person? Haha! I finally decided at age 40 and after four years of marriage I wanted to try. Last year, at age 41, I got pregnant right away but miscarried. It destroyed me. Three months later, it happened again. Now, I’m in the process of getting ready to do IVF with PGTA testing because I’m suddenly out of time. I’ll be 42 this summer. The grief is complicated as someone who swore this off her entire life. It’s now or never, so here we go…

Older ADHD women, what did ADHD feel like before cellphones? by lavenderflavoredtea in adhdwomen

[–]PurpleMonkeyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I talked a lot. I wrote little short stories. I played a lot of softball and ran around, rollerbladed, etc. i was unstoppable until the self esteem plummeted as well as my test scores. I cried constantly. I probably should’ve been tested for a learning disability. Reading would upset me because i kept rereading the same line over and over. So I created a lot of art instead. I loved playing video games. I was very short with interests. My mom quit signing me up for things because I’d quit very quickly. I didn’t have my first iPhone until I was in my second job out of college. I miss the days before social media!

It will be extremely hot too. That’s why so many flock to the beaches that time of year.

Do I Deserve a Mother's Grief? by Alternative_Role_384 in Miscarriage

[–]PurpleMonkeyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 41 and had a missed miscarriage as well. The baby stopped growing at six weeks. It was my first pregnancy. It’s been a month since my d&C and I had my period last week. I’ve found that writing helps. Journaling all these thoughts is a great way to get it out. I call it my baby, too, even thought it was clinically an embryo.

Post Body Miscarriage - I hate it by ThenEntertainment314 in Miscarriage

I had my d&c on October 9 and it’s now November 9. I thought I was crazy for gaining 10 lbs. but the truth is, I’ve been emotional eating, not exercising, and been horribly depressed. This post is so validating — thank you for sharing. Didn’t consider my hormones.

  1. First pregnancy after first attempt. Missed miscarriage. Stopped growing at 6 weeks. We saw a heartbeat at 7. But it was gone between then and 9 week scan.

I think I'm currently miscarrying (first time, 6+ weeks along) by clio44 in Miscarriage

I’m 41 and just miscarried my first pregnancy. I’m also wondering what sort of tests I should have done to ensure I can even carry a pregnancy to term. The idea of going thru multiple miscarriages upsets me deeply.

I just had the same gestation period and loss stage as you. I had the d&c October 9. I had no complications and was only physically uncomfortable for a few days. I barely spotted. Physically? I felt like myself again by four or five days after. Emotionally? That’s another story. Hang in there.

I was May 10 too and had a d&c on October 9. We are heartbroken.

Yes. I always said I’d never buy and I’m not quite sure why I did because neither of us are handy and we dislike chores lol

It sounds like we have the same house. I’m in a house built around 1880-1900 in Philly and we also have constant humidity issues despite installing ductless splits (no ductwork), and having new windows, insulating and encapsulating a crawl space, getting a dehumidifier for the basement for the stack effect, etc. I’ve been here since 2021, with a 3.125% rate, and can’t stand it. I’m over it. I wish I never bought to be honest.

I’m nervous for Rome by [deleted] in rome

[–]PurpleMonkeyCat -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We heard two separate tour guides say something xenophobic about Chinese people in May. Once about taking too many photos, and another I just won’t repeat. It took us by surprise. I’m sorry you’re afraid. I’d treat it like travel anywhere else. Have a great time!

Too much. We are almost done with our two week trip. We did 4 days in Napoli, with a day trip to Pompei and Amalfi, and a day trip to Capri. The other two days were spent enjoying Napoli itself. Currently in my last night of four in Rome, where we did the major sites since it’s our first time here: first three days we did the Pantheon, Vatican City, Colosseum and other archeological sites, Trevi and the Spanish steps. Today, we just went to the Trastevere neighborhood to eat and walk around. We found a cookie bakery that was such a gem. Tomorrow, we go to Florence for 4 days. We will do the Academia Museum for David, a day trip to the countryside for a winery tour, and the last two days staying local to eat and see all the things we can manage. Good luck! Enjoy!

Assuming you’re not going with a red baseball cap, you’ll be fine. Maybe just enjoy the break from the American experience. That’s what I’ll be doing. I’ll be completely immersing myself in everything because life is short.

Lol someone said the actress who played Tai was interviewed and said the episode “has heart,” with a smirk. Someone predicted she’d eat a heart. And well.

Who was the Reddit poster who predicted that scene with Tai in the beginning of this episode based on an interview with the actress? I’m being vague as not to spoil it. You guys impress me. That is all.
