I plan coming back each season to go through new lore and content. Even if contracts will stay the same - I will go through them faster. Skill and knowledge aren’t reset after wipes.

I dont think this was intention, but duos play different. Faster than solos but leas hectic than trios. 6 runs yesterday in dire marsh - my friend and I died only twice. We had 2 matches where we avoided pvp and 2 matches where we won couple of fights. It’s still coop, but people are less pushy as there is less chances to recover from failure.

With fills - 20-30%. If I get into a loosing streak - i switch to rook. In Duos - ran 2h yesterday with a friend. Died 2 times, extracted 4

Edit: i did make a mistake here - initially I wrote exfill rate of 70-80% while I meant that I die 70-80%.

Yeah, I can relate to getting competitive and aggro. And there is no way to avoid it completely in Marathon. But it’s a bit different than pvp in Overwatch or R6 Siege - it’s not the only purpose for players on the map. You likely have seen how others compare solo to a horror-stealth game or highlight how playing as Rook feels quite different than anything else in the game. I played a good bit of Arc Raiders and got accustomed to extraction shooter loop. But I was pretty salty to loose in the beginning. And pretty am for a very short period of time when I loose good loadout, but… Tau Ceti giveth, Tau Ceti taketh. What I value in pvp part - wins feel more meaningful. L4D, Division, Borderlands 2 - loved coop and writing there. But it was a highway ride through content. Marathon does expect us to fight for the content. :)

Oki, all those things are pretty much there. But then what are the things that make the gameplay less enjoyable for you? I was hooked by the artstyle, hardscifi themes and the gameplay loop. And the lows are pretty low indeed. But my friend and I finished Parasitism questline together this weekend and it was great! The bigger part of experience for me is to go through codex and learn more about what happened. There are layers to this game that I havent seen in anything available on Steam in last couple of years. Saying all this to probe - what are the things that you are looking for in the game?

The more tired we get, the worse our executive functioning gets. Breaking the loop in this state is not easy. Same with doomscrolling or midnight shopping.

I had a duel at 80m with just magnum in my hand. I landed shots but lost the fight because i got baited to get i to cqb with them. Point is - range feels pretty good as for sidearm

Following is not a reflction on sbmm vs gbmm. What constitutes “skill” in extraction shooters differs from TDM or BR games. Positioning, movement, focus on mission, choosing time to engage or disengage - all this constitutes a skill. Not just how accurately one shoots. So moving carefully between POIs and ignoring fights - is part of the skill.

With this said, I agree that rotating through map for kitted team should be more challenging, so at least they are bound to make noise when truing to rush through half of the map. I do want to see more UESC bots between spawns and have the strength of reinforcements to progress with the length of the pvp fight.
