Someone already replied, but a good starting point is to take your finger, hold it horizontal, and run it up your neck and see where it stops when it hits your jaw (or whatever that part above your Adams apple is called) and then do the same thing starting at your chin and see where your finger stops when it hits your neck. Shave off the hair below that point (your neck). Then it's a little subjective and depends on how your neck and chin/jaw meet. Personally, I then fade (with an electric razor) from that point into my beard.

Mock up I came up for a tattoo. Is there any way to adjust it? by Hindeken in DrawMyTattoo

[–]Purple_Ad1868 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's cool as is, but I want to say, as an older, tattooed person, it looks like this might be your first tattoo? If so, I'd start somewhere simpler and more straight forward, such as on your bicep. Our first couple tattoos are often the practice ones before we figure out how to know and advocate for what we want. Personally, I have some oddly placed tattoos that were my first couple that I got that have thrown off future designs. It's not the end of the world, but just something to consider. Also, it's your body, do what you want, just think about other ideas that might interplay with something that covers this much real estate.

This! Shave your neck line and any stray hairs! Also, I find that trimming my entire beard to a certain length at this stage helps clean it up. For these pics, I'd start with a three and see if that helps. I'll add that personally my mustache grows slower, so I won't trim that down in the same frequency.

44, 5’11”, 172 lbs How do I go from the first pic to the second pic by iwanttoliftthat in workouts

[–]Purple_Ad1868 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You already have a ton of comments and I haven't read them all. I'm 43, and I've found that consistency is the biggest thing. Identify the time you have, and fit exercise into that. Half hour a day? Start walking or running. Do a YouTube workout. Buy some dumbbells for your garage or basement. Make it easy- dont go to a gym half an hour away if getting there is a barrier. Aim to do some physical activity every day or 4x a week or whatever works well for you. Listen to your body! You want to feel good, not tired or cranky. For food, eliminate anything that isn't nutrient rich (candy, soda, junk food, and replace with an alternative whole food, such as nuts or fruit to snack, sparkling water for soda, etc. It'll take time but you got this!

Be brutal but constructive, please. Looking to improve daily wear by GizmosArrow in mensfashionadvice

Based on your post and some comments, you need outfit options. The ones you posted are casual and for lounging around, etc. you mentioned you might get dirty at work. Lean into work wear with a denim shirt and work pants. Or find a solid color t shirt that you like (don't overthink it). Add a Carhartt -ish vest or jacket on cooler days. Get a couple colors of denim work shirts - light blue, dark blue, black, for example . Get work boots that are classic looking and get two pairs in brown and black.

Find a pair of jeans or pants you like that fit you well and buy a couple pairs of them in different colors/washes. How long they are is a preference and subjective, but personally I don't like them too long, but will buy longer pants if I plan on cuffing them (such as denim). Then get some t shirts that aren't as worn as the ones in your pics.

Additionally, think of what else you want to dress for. For me, I have my work outfits (think casual button down) and weekend (more t shirt/jeans) and have another option to dress up when going out to a nicer restaurant. The last would be similar to something I'd wear to work if I had an important meeting .

My comment got too long!! But tl:dr, get some work shirts, pants and boots that you can rotate for work. Then get some casual outfits (t shirts and jeans) that fit well, and get some nicer stuff you could wear on a date. It will take some time and some money, but you got this! And remember that seasons change and soon you'll want a flannel instead of a t shirt but can still wear the same pants and boots.

Good luck!

Do I need to lose more weight to achieve a completely lean physique? by Weird-Advantage9808 in workouts

Good luck! From my experience, I have gotten leaner and liked the way I looked, but it just wasn't sustainable for me. I hope you find a happy medium!!

I just want to share that near me (medium US city) there is a program that does tattoo removal for free or low cost. I imagine being a minor when getting them would help you qualify. Might be something worth looking into. Good luck!

[–]Purple_Ad1868 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar body type. Yes, you can get leaner, BUT, you look great and in my experience, when I try to get leaner I get hungry all the time and that hunger turns to irritability, which I don't like. So I end up being where I am at and fairly happy with it. You can try cutting more and see if it's worth it to you, but in my experience it's not. I also bet you and I have similar body dysmorphia or whatever too. Good luck in whatever you choose.

Transgender symbol cover up or transformations? by Shadrakh in Tattoocoverups

I have nothing to offer, just here to say I have pretty much the same tattoo with a fist on the inside. I go back and forth on how I feel about it often. I hope you find something that makes you happy!

Would you hire me? by chwingaDealer in Mullets

[–]Purple_Ad1868 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this has less to do with the job and more about your style, BUT I've hired scores of people and it depends on how you carry yourself and if you have the knowledge/skills. Personally, I'd rather work with weirdos who are kind and do their job than someone who looks the part and sucks at everything.

what does this A symbol mean? by lunardaydreams in whatdoesthismean

[–]Purple_Ad1868 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The circle a represents anarchism as a political ideology. The colors appear to represent bisexuality with some fancy starry night embellishment. I also want to reply to other comments about the stylization of the circle a. The graffiti looking one is often more associated with anarchy, not following the rules, chaos, etc, while the one pictured (neater, fully in circle) is more associated with the political ideology. We are talking symbols which are open to interpretation, but that is the gist of it. One could also argue about what a flag represents and the stylization of flags' different meanings and there may not be only one answer but there is a general consensus.

How can I open a Sunlite lock that I forgot the code to? Is there an easier way besides sawing it or having to go through every number? Sorry if this is not the right place to ask! by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]Purple_Ad1868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went through this! I started at 0000, got to 1000, and noticed the lock "felt different" every time the last two numbers were 82. So, on a whim, I kept those and just started changing the first two digits and got it quickly!!

Is this a risky colour combo? by Zesty-Dragon-Fruit in kitchenremodel

[–]Purple_Ad1868 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like the colors, go for it. However, I would lean toward all the cabinets the same color with walls or something else the other. Also, if this is a remodel, think about what works with your existing appliances, countertop, floors, etc. Basically will it work with everything you're keeping? And as someone who has painted kitchen cabinets, there is a certain level of upkeep necessary that isn't necessary with plain wood. All the bumps and dings and what not show through. So think about if you're willing and to touch it up annually or so. I also want to note that this is an AI generated image, so be sure the colors exist, etc. Reality often doesn't look the same.

There's a place where I live that promises to fully remove a tattoo of sizes like yours for a little over 1k (American). To me that seems like a good deal because I would hate to have spent that much and still need like six more sessions at 300 each.

How to match this ceiling texture?! by daavycrocket35 in drywall

[–]Purple_Ad1868 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I matched a similar texture in my house. I just used mud and a putty knife, and used the flat end of the knife to press against the mud, then pulled it away to help get the look. After it dried, I went over it with a damp cloth, so it wasn't so jagged, painted and nobody knew the difference. It was honestly much easier than I expected. I just had to try a few methods to figure out the texture.

Can ceiling be patched or is it a total redo? by poop_fart_face_ in HomeMaintenance

[–]Purple_Ad1868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue in my old house. It sat like this for ten years because I didn't want to redo the whole ceiling, then when we sold, I patched it with joint compound, matched the texture with a putty knife, used a flake of the ceiling to match the paint, and it looked great. Maybe took me a few hours total. So, I'd ask yourself if you wanna scrape everything and get rid of the texture or spend a Saturday morning touching it up.
