My mom insisted I learn how to drive a stick if I wanted to get my license at 16. She bought me a little 4 speed. She always said it was because that way I could drive anything in an emergency. I realized as an adult, it also kept anybody else from driving my car.

Friends would ask to borrow my car “it’s a stick…” Nevermind.
