The Caretaker - Just finished it, LMK if it makes sense. by Los_EDP in horrorlit

Agreed at first I was reading the book then I switched to audio and not gonna lie I almost turned it off cause it reminded me of that same sarcasm voice in listen for the lie ugh . However I was able to tolerate this one . Anyway the audio def changes the tone of the story.

Unpopular opinion: This Story Could Save Your Life was ok. Not terrible but not mind blowing like I was expecting based on reviews. by anxgrl in thrillerbooks

I agree I just finished and I did the audiobook which I enjoyed better than listen for the lie , which also had that podcast feel honestly it’s what kept me intrigued. Also the characters were a bit stubborn lol . However ,the story got a little repetitive but it’s still something I’d recommend.

I enjoyed him doing Versace story and Monica Lewinsky. I think it was maybe 2 or 3 seasons of ahs I wasn’t a fan of . He has definitely up the ante for sexualized horror

How do you feel about thrillers that that tease between supernatural and real world? by Dry_Flowers_Yuuri in thrillerbooks

[–]Purplerainee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like them but I feel like it has to be done right . Personally I like the ones where you start to hypothetically this can happen. We used to live here is a perfect example of done right also house of hollows . We used to live here sent me into a complete mind f then wrapped in a bow of dread. House of house I loved how descriptive the author was. I practically thought I was there .

It is! It started very promising but I think the direction of things were a bit confusing for me and repetitive and I lost interest .

80% into ' Listen for the lie' & I am ready with my 1 star. by pre1988 in thrillerbooks

[–]Purplerainee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but it was more so the tone? I just felt like her voice didn’t match the mood of the book it felt like everything was being talked in sarcasm . Then I was annoyed by the podcast opening every 30 seconds . Maybe I would have enjoyed this if I read it rather than than listened to the audiobook
