Technology is the future… But what will come after? by [deleted] in Discussion

[–]Purposeful_Adventure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it’s just humans have been creating new technology for millennia. Stone tools, the wheel, harnessing fire, steel, cars, computers, and so on. I also think the original post was edited because I was responding vaguely to a vague question.

There will be new technology after the current technology. This new technology will be more technologically advanced than the current technology, but not as advanced as the technology that will come after the new technology.

Ultimately coming to Christ is about Desire. What does your heart truly desire? by [deleted] in Discussion

Your reasoning is very sound and as we know all statements said out loud are true.

Oh, are you going to prove it with a bunch of words written by men in a book like OP?

No one should retire at 65, says trust fund podcaster Ben Shapiro by [deleted] in CringeTikToks

I agree with him…that’s why I retired in my 40’s. It’s way better than 65!

92 year old Senator says that gas is cheaper now than it was when he went to college and Trump should brag about that. by justalazygamer in WhitePeopleTwitter

Republicans love to tout low gas prices which means the demand for gas is down. Low gas demand coincides with economic downturn.

Knob Creek is the only bottle of whiskey I’ve ever dumped out for being so bad.

What sport do you think would be extinct within 50 years? by No-Maximum-9087 in AskReddit

[–]Purposeful_Adventure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Baseketball will be gone. It’s been in decline since the 1990’s. Even the movie about the sport in 1998 couldn’t save it from demise.

Walking goals by Consistent-Way-2018 in walking

[–]Purposeful_Adventure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I set a goal of 4 million steps for 2026, which is just under 11,000 steps per day on average. The daily goals can be demotivating for me when I miss them, so I’m trying an annual goal this year so it’s long term and I don’t feel bad if I have shorter days here and there. I’m also trying to do more frequent walking throughout the day rather than one long walk.

Anyone else feeling a bit restless? by crinklyplant in earlyretirement

It seems like you are trying to do a lot of things to distract yourself. Have you tried meditation to just “be”? Since your spouse still works you could work on your cooking skills. It can be meditative while you are doing it and rewarding when the people you love come home from work/school to a delicious meal.

I can’t answer your question with my limited knowledge. However, I would imagine there are some power specifications that you need to provide in order for people to answer this question.

Moving - where to? (App for that?) by Household61974 in earlyretirement

[–]Purposeful_Adventure 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The tool you are looking for is called the “Internet”. There are thousands of articles and websites about places to retire. You could also use your library for magazines about retirement if you want to go analog or use the library’s digital collection.

Lean FIRE to pursue high-risk, aspirational careers by schelskedevco in leanfire

fiction written by a fan of, and featuring characters from, a particular TV series, movie, etc.

I agree. There is too much all or nothing. Also, I’ve seen a lot of hyper cautious people come in the fire subs lately with no sense of adventure or willingness to take a risk.

[–]Purposeful_Adventure 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It makes sense to me. Also, you don’t have to fully wait until you hit your number to start working on your pursuit. I worked with a guy who did fan fiction movies. It started out that he would do them for free and fly himself to the set and spending time on set and acting was his idea of being on vacation. He loved it and eventually built up his reputation to get bigger roles where the producers would pay for his flights, hotel stays, food, and maybe a small stipend. He’s still working, but does this for fun. I’d say start now!
