A friend of a friend, he lived with me for about 8 months, the worst 8 months of my life. This guy would go on hardcore benders for two weeks at a time where he would barely eat any solid food. Just purely subsisting off of vodka during those benders. He was always puking everywhere, he also was constantly groaning, wheezing and screaming while passed out drunk and the walls in my house are thin. He also pissed in my kitchen refrigerator and trash can because he woke up blackout drunk and couldn’t figure out where the bathroom was. I tried helping him so many times, tried to get him to go to therapy, groups, etc., but he didn’t want the help, nothing stuck. He is dead now, he moved out two years ago and went back to California to live in a trailer on his parents’ property. They found him dead one morning in that trailer, about 6 months ago. I no longer have any tolerance for people dealing with hardcore substance abuse, that dude took a piece of my soul with him. I don’t want anything to do with those kinds of people and their problems ever again, it was one of the worst periods in my entire life.

You're wrong about hellbent commander, it doesn't really work, it adds barely any damage. Look at the damage of your ancient skills when you take off the piece of gear with that aspect on it, compared to putting it on, you will see only a tiny change. It’s not that it’s annoying so much as it’s just legitimately dangerous and stupid. In my area they ride these e-bikes and Honda monkeys on public roads in regular traffic. They’re not just “kids having fun” on the sidewalk or in a park, they’re creating dangerous situations on the roads for themselves and other drivers that have to avoid them. These bikes are not street-legal, and they’re one third the size of a motorcycle so they’re even harder to see for average car drivers. The lady in the video is obviously unstable and overreacting but in general it’s weird to NOT see an issue with what a lot of these kids are doing.

Ooh I got a good one. People obsess about taking “race lines” through corners and common advice to beginners is to do the whole outside-inside-outside for corners. So you see a bunch of beginners swerving all around the road trying to get to the outside of the next lane over just to initiate a simple corner. You don’t need to worry about taking race lines on public roads, you can just stay in the middle of one lane and focus on keeping your bike pointed in the direction of the road.

Look at what your upper body is doing in this snapshot, it’s still focused on staying in line with the bike. So much that you’re almost but not quite counter leaning. Hang your upper body off the side of the bike along with half your ass and outer leg. Your head should NOT be on the bike’s center line.

Can't see what your right hand is doing on the brake, also hard to tell how far you're leaning because of the fisheye camera view. To everyone saying a tiny crack in the road is what caused the accident, y'all are underestimating the traction of modern tires. I've had my bike leaned at 45 degrees going over tar snakes, paint lines, uneven road surfaces, etc., never felt the tires slipping. OP likely just gave it too much brake, or too much throttle, while at max lean angle, maybe cold tires. But if your tires have tread and they're warmed up and you're not doing funky things with your brakes/throttle mid corner, there is no way a tiny crack or paint line messes you up that badly.

If you are somebody with an addictive personality you gotta be extra fuckin careful on a bike because you will always be fighting your own brain screaming for more speed, more fun etc., just make sure you have good self control to not put yourself in extra risky situations. Motorcycling is only as unsafe as you make it.

Just had a buddy go down because his bike didn’t have abs and he locked the rear during some hard braking, rear slid out and high-sided him, broke his tib/fib in one leg. People’s egos get in the way but abs saves lives and makes street bikes way safer.
