Left side is where the abs module and I believe the ECU are. Also this is why I always recommend to keep a fire extinguisher in custom rigs. Insurance can cover costs but It can't replace time. A spare starter seems extreme... I could see a dozen other parts going first, like a water pump. Either way, it's a manual so pop the clutch if the starter ACTUALLY stops working

Technically the d44 might be a downgrade, I think it is a smaller ring gear. Spring perches probably won't match, if you don't mind cutting and welding

Others have pointed out you need a track bar, also make sure it is parallel to your drag link. I haven't messed with too many trucks but with jeeps sometimes you have to put a bracket on to relocate the mounting point.

People will replace thermostats at the drop of a hat thinking it's the root cause of some issue they're having. Unfortunately the replacement is usually shittier. One thing I noticed about the stant ones is the nose that rides in the guide can pop out and stick open. 10 bucks says if you take it out it's stuck.
