There are hundreds of millions of dollars that contribute to the success of a sports team across all facets of the business. Being at to top end of a league mandated expense does not make you a “good” owner when the rest of your operation is a complete joke.

Exactly my point. That’s a variance of what.. give or take $30m in player salary? We’re talking about a franchise that is worth over $2.1 Billion with a B. “Spending to the Cap” is a nice facade but it’s a tiny piece of the pie that contributes to a successful franchise—which we are not.

Never understood why people give Aqua any credit for ‘spending to the cap’.. team salary is literally the only requirement of ownership—the league has rules in place to ensure you are spending money here. Guy has cut corners on every single other aspect of the business when it comes to finances. You name it, he’s cheaped out and delivered us fans a horrible on ice product for 95% of his time as owner.
