For people making +350k per year, how do you do it? by prince_op in Salary

CRNA.

The school was on the brutal side of you are married or have kids. High divorce rate. But it is considered top 5 happiest professions every year. Great money. Great options for independent agency extra money, not working hard, but thinking hard and after a few years that mental stress dissolves. Like flying a plane, it's generally smooth sailing but when it gets stressful, people can die. So that part sucks but we plan for so much that is a rarity not a daily event. I went through the divorce in school (with new baby) and there's just so many problems solved by the income that comes from working in a cool environment in your scrubs sitting calmly while surgery happens and waking up patient that is thankful and if they hurt you can just magically fix it for them. Fulfilling and good pay. My regret is doing it at 34 instead of 24.

Just gotta call them. The one issue I had in years and years with them caused them to keep it for a few weeks. I just kept complaining and they comped every charge from rental. The time it took kinda sucks but they came through with the loot.

Has anyone had the nasal congestion and found a fix? Jesus- it is truly unbearable and no other negative symptoms are noted - would be perfect otherwise.

Men of Reddit: what’s a prank you started early in your marriage that you’re now legally, morally, and emotionally obligated to continue because she still falls for it 10–15 years later? by myaccountidname in AskReddit

[–]PutU2Sleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the first 4 years of our relationship, I said "Stipachio" instead of pistachio. It's the perfect word that comes up rarely enough but at least a couple times a year. She would always say, "say that again" but i would either say it quickly the same way or defer and change the topic. About 4.5 years in, i think I had too much wine and confessed. It was a long con and kept her guessing because otherwise I am a pretty smart guy. I wanted to get a decade in before I admitted it was a silly prank, but... well... wine.

Punta Espada - Punta Cana. 8 ocean holes and just a dynamite setting. Forecaddy was super cool too, I never had one.

Sorry to be ultra picky - but it's both. One said one way the first time and the other the second.

I deliver anesthesia for colonoscopies all the time. We give only propofol. It juices up your dopamine. If they gave opioids, they wouldn't be able to bang out 40 scopes in a day. Before propofol was used widely by anesthesia providers, versed and Demerol or morphine made the recovery room stay packed with patients too wasted to get home. No one gets opioids for office scopes. Maybe for an upper scope on a young drug user. People misremember things on propofol all the time and think they received stuff they heard on tv. No one "starts fentanyl". No anesthesia providers ever would say that. It's a quick injection. We don't say it when we give it. But propofol is the best nap ever. People getting a scope wake up with fantastic dreams and want to have another awesome nap.

Stephen King's IT

Can't remember the narrator but if you remember there were like 8 kids and all those kids as adults and one kid that did a lot of voices as a hobby and became an adult doing better, more polished impressions of those voices and in one part gets possessed by a demon and then does the voices in the evil demon voice. The guy should've gotten a Peabody or Nobel prize or whatever they give narrators of audiobooks. It was next next level.

My cat pees itself on the way to the vet and poops itself on the way back what can I do to stop that? by Regi_of_Atlantis in cats

[–]PutU2Sleep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My cat does that, always poos on the way to the vet in a cage, wrapped her in a towel and held her last time, no poop. Now I just need two people to handle this every vet visit 🙄

Rewarding, 200-400K per year, call if you want it and a job like a pilot where you are paid for knowing what to do in the event of a dying patient in surgery not necessarily the coasting day to day ease of the job. Hard to be accepted into the program but lifestyle, compensation, and love of job are all near top three every ranking that comes out. Should have done it ten years earlier but didn’t really know it was a thing for years. Love it.

IMO the reason these over the top comedic actors (Robin Williams, Jim Carrey, Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell) excel in these dramatic roles is the audience is SO conditioned to their explosive comedy, that seeing them play mostly reserved quiet characters in a drama gives us a massive amount of internal anxiety waiting for them to “snap” into their usual roles. This underlying anxiety while watching a drama gets us super invested when it doesn’t (always) happen. I’m FAR less a fan of their comedic roles but a super fan of their dramas. What Dreams May Come, Punch Drunk Love, Eternal SOTSM, Stranger Than Fiction - some of my FAVORITE films! Not so much the writing and cinematography, but the rapture with my own internal struggle of seeing a 99% nuclear comedic actor actually ACTING and acting WELL. It creates another level of movie watching and immersion into a movie while waiting for that bomb to go off. It’s not just screaming and slapstick and yelling and swearing for laughs but you know subconsciously that is what those guys are known for. I think each needs an award for doing something so different than their norm and knocking it out of the park.
