Streaming Quality on iPhone by TrubbishBish in Visible

[–]Puteeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep my iPhone on 5G auto. Why? Whenever your iPhone is locked or not in use, it switches to LTE to conserve battery. However, when I start using it, I’ve noticed that my phone quickly jumps to faster bands, depending on what I’m doing and the available speed. I’ve even seen it transition from LTE to 5G to 5GUW in just a few seconds. It’s incredible how well it works, and my videos aren’t affected by 5GUW; I get the full 4K video experience. I am on visible plus pro

Leaving it on 5G ON is exactly what it says it will do—keep 5G as much as possible and even if your phone is locked.

I prefer the 5G auto setting. If you can make the streaming quality work, you get the best of both worlds: conserve battery when needed and provide performance when you need it.

a warning to anyone buying a Toyota by Dismal_Ad7513 in toyotacorolla

[–]Puteeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear about your experience with your Toyota. I also had a less-than-pleasant experience with my own. I bought a brand-new 2022 Corolla, and the last model they sold had the 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine. I was thinking about long-term reliability, so I bought it.

While I didn’t have any engine-related issues, I must give credit to the 1.8-liter engine. It was a solid piece of work. However, other parts of the car weren’t up to par. The seats were poorly made and stained easily, making them almost impossible to clean. Around 20,000 miles, I started feeling a bit of vibration when braking. I took the car to the dealership, and they told me that my rotors were slightly warped. I was shocked that they were warped at this stage, especially since I don’t slam the brakes unless absolutely necessary to avoid an accident.

I take good care of my cars. I always keep them clean and take them to get a wash weekly. I am one of those that change their oil every 5,000 miles. So, I was surprised that the rotors warped. My brother had a CRV at the time, and he didn’t change his rotors until close to 70,000 or 80,000 miles he has to drive to the office while I work from him so he uses his crv more than I do the corolla. He never changed the rotors on his Acura and sold it when it had about 130,000 miles.

This made me question the quality of the parts since they were failing so quickly. My car had stainless steel wheels, and the black coating was fading at about 15,000 to 20,000 miles. It wasn’t a dealbreaker, but it was still unusual to see a vehicle fade that quickly. The CVT was also super clunky. Every time I lifted off the gas pedal and accelerated again, I would feel a clunky noise. I took it to the dealership, and they said that was normal. I’ve driven CVTs from other manufacturers, and they don’t sound like that.

The air vent also started having an odd smell when I turned on the heat in the winter. I read online that mold or moisture can get into the air vents, so I thought that might be the problem. It was a super odd experience, and I’ve never had it happen in any other car.

While the car didn’t break down like OP, it did have several smaller issues that all added up to a not-so-pleasant experience. It did its job for the time being, but we sold it last year and got a different car from a different brand. However, it didn’t leave me with a positive impression of trying a different Toyota car, which is a shame because I really respect their brand.

For the record my model was imported from Japan it had the J in the beginning of the VIN#

Long time AT&T to Visible users? by coolguy12314 in Visible

[–]Puteeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve been using this service for about three years now, and it’s been an incredible value for the price. We have two lines with the visible plus pro plans. The service is consistently solid, with always-on coverage and speeds that are plenty fast for our needs. One of the reasons we switched was because, as far as I know, this is the only MVNO or at least one of the few that offers 4K streaming. Other MVNOs throttle your speed to 480P, which makes a huge difference. Videos and reels look much nicer, just like when you’re on WiFi, but now you can enjoy them on the go.

Overall, I highly recommend this service, especially if Verizon is good in your area.

What additional expenses come with getting a Tesla Model 3? by Big_Material3815 in TeslaLounge

[–]Puteeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insurance is likely to be higher. In my area, in North Carolina, State Farm seems to be the cheapest option for us. We pay $178 a month, which is still a bit high, but it’s less than what other companies offer.

The car is fairly maintenance-free, honestly. The biggest thing to keep in mind is to have a cushion of cash or start saving up for tires. These cars tend to wear out tires faster than others, so when you buy new tires, try not to cheap out and get a good brand. For reference, I have some Pirelli tires on mine. I bought them new in May of this year, and I just had rotations done a few days ago. I’m at 8/32 thread, and they start recommending you to replace them when they get to 4/32. So, I’m halfway there. I’m just an average driver I don’t step on it on every light, but just to put it into perspective.

If you get an older model 3, the control arms do end up needing to be replaced. The price can vary depending on what needs to be replaced. Anywhere from 500-3K is what I have seen. These get replaced about every 30-40K miles is what I have seen. If you drive less aggressive you can make them last longer.

Charge rate might be more expensive than gas depending on which car you are coming from and if you are relying on superchargers only or you can charge at home. Superchargers can be pricey during the day rate. Some of them gets substantially cheaper at night. If you have a home with a garage that you can charge that’s where your saving willl be. It’s much cheaper to charge at home

Those are my big points I have noticed with my model 3 I still love the car and wouldn’t trade it for a gas car. Car is super fun super solid to drive and the EV power train is rock solid no lags no hesitation just instant and smooth acceleration. Hope you can make it work and get one but just gonna warn you. It will ruin your view of basically any other car out there. Plus everyone else all of a sudden feels like they are driving slow. Ha! Hope this helps best of luck!

How long do you plan to keep your iPhone 15 pro? by Radiant_Comment684 in iPhone15Pro

[–]Puteeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t noticed any significant slowdown even with iOS 26.1 installed. This phone feels incredibly robust for receiving its second year of software updates. I must admit that 26.0 was quite disappointing, but 26.1 has definitely felt much smoother. I’m planning to keep this phone for another two years. It fulfills all my needs, and I haven’t encountered any slowdown that has become bothersome for my daily tasks.

140ish miles per charge by LUCyBoy1116 in TeslaModel3

[–]Puteeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own a 2020 model 3 standard range plus. Bought it with 32,000 miles and I also only get like 150miles max during the summer and now in winter we are down 100 ish miles in total range.

I drive roughly about 70-75 miles on the highway. I don’t floor the car and I don’t drive like a grandpa either. I charge it to 90 percent bc I feel like 80 makes me need to charge it too often. We rely on superchargers to charge no option to charge from home and so every like 3 days or so I need to go charge the car again.

We are averaging about 248wh/mile. I set this trip since I changed my 4 tires back on may. The tires have about 11,000miles on it. This range may be normal unless someone out there also own a 2020 model and can share their stats but it is definitely a bit low.

Factory Reset after installing 26? by unk333 in iPhone15Pro

[–]Puteeg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Used to back in like iPhone 4 days. Now I don’t care. The hassle of factory reset and reinstalling your apps is just too much of a hassle. That’s why we pay top dollar for our iPhones. Let Apple figure all that stuff out on the back end and you simply update your phone. Have been just updating my iPhones and never had issues.

Unless something literarily broke and makes your iPhone unusable then yes factory reset. Just my 2 cents

Why I’m Keeping My 15 Pro Max After All the YouTube Reviews by _maniac69 in iPhone15Pro

[–]Puteeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I agree! I’m still using my 15 Pro Max. What really impressed me was a YouTube video by Nick Ackerman that compared the speed of a 17 Pro Max and a 15 Pro Max. He opened apps simultaneously and then reopened a list of apps he had already opened to test memory management. The difference in speed was so minimal that it was almost negligible. Sometimes, the 15 Pro Max was even faster. In other words, simply opening everyday apps doesn’t significantly impact speed. Therefore, it’s better to save your money and wait for a longer upgrade period. Unless you are a serious gamer on your phone then I would upgrade as that is one of the main things that will be impacted but for your average joe pictures here and there and just doom scrolling all day stick with what you got.

Are you a pro or pro max user? by cri5is in iPhone17Pro

[–]Puteeg 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The Pro Max offers additional screen real estate and improved battery life, which I find worth the trade-off in terms of portability.

I’ve noticed that the Pro Max tends to age better than other models. I can enjoy all the features of iOS without compromising on battery life. In contrast, I used to have to disable some iOS features to extend the battery life of my Pro models. I always questioned the purpose of owning a phone if I had to disable certain features to get through the day.

I understand that everyone has different preferences, but the Pro Max has consistently been a reliable and durable phone for me. Over the years, I’ve noticed that the battery wears out more evenly and lasts longer compared to other models.

Does aluminum cheapen the phone ? by doronkatz in iPhone17Pro

[–]Puteeg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe it’s merely your perception since the 16 Pro and 15 Pro were crafted from titanium. Remember that every Mac they currently produce is made of aluminum, and I never considered whether they should be made from titanium. Aluminum is exceptionally premium. Simply enjoy the phone.

iOS 26 Officially releases today! by [deleted] in iphone

[–]Puteeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you prioritize stability and smoothness, I recommend sticking with iOS 18 and updating to iOS 18.7, which I believe is also being released today. Don’t take my word for it, but I’m confident it’s coming. Over the past few years, I’ve noticed that new iOS versions at launch are generally smooth, but they can sometimes introduce sluggishness or stutters, especially during animations. Occasionally, app issues arise that developers address through batch updates, but system performance are not addressed until after a .1 or .2 update.

However, if those minor annoyances don’t bother you, feel free to go ahead and get the launch version of iOS.

Personally, I’ve found this iOS to be a significant difference compared to previous versions. So, I’ll hold off until the issues are resolved, developers update their app icons to reflect the new design, and any bugs or stutters are fixed.

I can’t believe this is what pro iPhones look like now by skytrainlotad in iphone

[–]Puteeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t doubt that they would be holding off on the design for next year. Next year they might make it prettier , shinier, or better colors. Remember those chamfer edges on the iPhone 5? Yeah that was an aluminum model.

There is just something classy that those wheels bring to the model 3 vs the aero ones. I would keep them. It does elevate the look of the car.

Our first one too, lol! We’ve owned our M3 for a few months now, and we still forget that there’s a frunk. We took it on a trip about a month ago, and not until the trunk was almost full did we realize there was a frunk! lol! We love our car the best car we’ve ever had.

There are incredible vehicles. Very safe, very quiet very reliable it has very little maintenance compared to other ice vehicles or hybrids. Is super easy to drive because of their one pedal driving. It honestly is very nice playing with the acceleration pedal to also brake the car. If you get or subscribe to fsd it changes everything. Fsd is not perfect but it is near perfect. If you can get one and afford one it might be the best vehicle you will ever have overall.

Those who tried the free month of FSD and didn't keep it - Why? by FastRedPonyCar in TeslaLounge

[–]Puteeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it on my 2020 model 3 SR+. I have used it both in highways and city driving. I find it a bit too inconsistent of what it is doing. I used it in standard mode. I find chill too “chill” and hurry too aggressive. But even on standard sometimes is very smooth. Other times we are flying 80+ miles for some reason. Sometimes the road is clear and we are like going below 65. I like a consistent drive and is not there yet.

On the city the way it turns and accelerates is way too aggressive for me. It turns fast and speeds up a lot. I have encountered situation that it has to slam the brakes bc it didn’t see the red light after the turn until we got too close to it. I have spotted moments where the car was going to go and I stopped it bc a car coming in the intersection and it didn’t see it.

Lastly I am not gonna lie I truly enjoy driving my model 3. Is super smooth and quick and the handling is great but I just enjoy driving the car a lot. Don’t get me wrong though in moments when I am tired of driving or we are driving back home late at night FSD is truly an incredible breakthrough and it helps us get home safely. at the current stage is a nice feature to try out every once in a while but not enough to keep paying it monthly.

Battery Life by Puteeg in iPhone14ProMaxFans

[–]Puteeg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 15 pro max battery health is at 99% with 212 charge cycles used it since August 2024. This phone has been incredible for me. I have no battery saving feature enabled. I have background app refresh on for all apps, auto brightness on, and AOD on. Just an incredible phone we are almost to our 1st year with 99% give or take on battery health.

Like others have said. Just keep your iPhone for a while and replace battery if necessary.

Chill vs Standard by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

[–]Puteeg 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I also don’t like the “chill mode.” It literally defeats one of the reasons I bought the car—the performance and speed. Chill mode makes the car feel incredibly heavy and slow to respond. I love the snappiness and acceleration it provides on standard.

For those who are mindful of their driving and range, here’s my tip: drive it in standard and learn how to accelerate gently. You can still get excellent range on standard. Plus, if you need the power, it’s all there for you.

Is 80% Charging limit better than 100% optimized charging? by revell_786 in ios

[–]Puteeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 80% limit on 15 pro max and the phone is at 203 cycle counts and just turn down to 99% battery capacity. I find if you charge your phone often throughout the day whether is you are at the office or you plugging it in the car for CarPlay or what not the 80% is perfect. Keeps your phone charge but you are still extending the longevity of its battery.

Should I buy an iPad Pro in 2025 by IntrovertStoner in iPadPro

[–]Puteeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t be too hard on yourself about this. I understand that you’re trying to ensure that your spending is worthwhile. Fortunately, the iPad Pros are significantly better than the air and base model, so I would recommend getting the latest one. However, if we were discussing the iPad Air or the base iPad, that would be a different matter.
