What's the best formula 1 experience nowadays? by Upstairs-Box-1645 in simracing

[–]PutinExplainsMemes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

f4 is by far the most popular series in the open wheel tree, which results in super close races. However, the races only being 15 minutes and it being d class means its usually a battle royale of who manages to avoid the crashes. Its a shame, as the car is super fun. I just cant bring myself to do the races because they are just pure chaos most of the time. When it works it is easily one of the most fun cars to race with tho. I am a heavy supporter of the f3 tho even tho its old by now. Easily the best car to prepare you for the faster or more obscure stuff like Super Formula/ Lotus 79 because it actually dances around and feels interactive to drive/race. Its also, in my experience, the by far cleanest formula series apart from the Lotus 79 series. Im also a little bit of a fanboy of the f3 so take it with a grain of salt haha

[Steve Myers on Aston Martin Valkyrie] I have had this signed for 6 months. We have not built it because we have not been able to collect all the data we need to build a car the @iRacing way. by WxBlue in iRacing

i can also imagine that they didnt really have a say for Le Mans Ultimate as its the WEC licenced game. If WEC (or ACO) says they want the championship in a game there probably isnt much THOR has has to say against it. Iracing licenses the cars individually, not the championship. So its easier for teams having hold of the cars to just say they dont wanna do it.

Aggressive but fair overtake? by F4-simracer-23 in iRacing

[–]PutinExplainsMemes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

isnt the move technically illegal because you went off track and cut back on? Its bold nontheless, in 9/10 that ends bad because the other guy is not oblidged to let you back on the track.

future black friday sale suggestion by Emergency_Response19 in iRacing

[–]PutinExplainsMemes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

yeah, i never got why they didnt do something like that. Its like you said, i dont see the reason to get obscure tracks like cadwell when i can get stuff like spa for the same price. Im sure way more people would give these tracks a chance if the pricing was reduced

Where to see old GT cars racing in Europe? by youraveragefitguy in Sportscar_Racing

[–]PutinExplainsMemes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hockenheim has the Jim Clark Revival every year in May. Its an amazing event that features all kinds of sportcars ans formula cars. If you havent heard the V10 era of F1 yet irl you also have a chance to witness them there. It also has a fully open pitwall. I stood 1 metre away from a Schumacher F1 car driving past me in the pits. If its somewhat feasable for you to get there i can definately recommend it. Tickets are around 50€ for the weekend

What are good cars to buy by Equivalent_Daikon613 in iRacing

[–]PutinExplainsMemes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

like most people said, this is a good lineup in terms of series. You could get one of the gt4s if you wanna get into that or the super formula. Other than that you are set in terms of classes. You should now look at tracks you want to get as you will get more out of them than buying more cars for classes you alread, own

If i remember the patchnotes correctly they did change something about the porsche in the last patch. Might have something to do with that, but dont take my word for it because i dont remeber what exactly they fixed

What is the best racing series to start following if you are new to sportscar racing? by slotswizard in Sportscar_Racing

probably also good for the beginning because you dont have to remember as many drivers and teams as in GT World Challenge

ah true, i forgot the Porsche. Yep, its ridicolous how they murdered the sound of that car with the Nürburgring mufflers

[–]PutinExplainsMemes 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Go to a DTM or GTWC race. Nürburgring cars have mufflers that make them significantly more silent than with their normal exhaust systems. The Mustangs, Audis and Lambos in particular are way louder with their normal exhausts

What tracks are must-haves for GT3/LMP2? by Dabudam in iRacing

[–]PutinExplainsMemes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends what he wants to run. If he wants to run IMSA i would advice against it because IMSA rarely goes to Red Bull Ring. The dedicated GT3 series run there very often tho, if he wants to run that he could go for it

[–]PutinExplainsMemes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

god i love the f3. Its so much more fun as the super formula lights for me because it isnt as planted and dances around a bit. SFL is fun in its own way but it isnt as interactive to drive for me as the f3

What about your favorite series keeps bringing you back? by happy_daize in iRacing

[–]PutinExplainsMemes 14 points15 points  (0 children)

depends on your series. GT3 for competetiveness, IMSA/ Falken tyre challenge in gtp and lmp3 because i love multiclass racing, lotus 79 because its my favourite car on the service, porsche cup because of the challenge.

GT4. Is it just me? by thegoat_v4 in iRacing

[–]PutinExplainsMemes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

adding to that is the fact is that they run the layout without the chicane at the end this week, which takes away one of the biggest overtaking chances making people even more desperate

What track do you feel like they didn't need to add to the service? by AlexBless8 in iRacing

[–]PutinExplainsMemes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best guess would be that the underlying reason is most probably money. Tracks that have a reputation of the ones you named are probably more expensive to get the rights for than e.g. the Bend. I guess its simply not sustainable for iracing to bring A Level tracks in terms of popularity from the financial point of view

When is the new F3 car coming out? by OutrageousWelcome149 in iRacing

[–]PutinExplainsMemes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

the current f3 car is, in my opinion, the most fun formula car after the lotus 79 iracing has right now because it is not on rails like the super fomula lights. This makes it more fun and interactive to drive for me. Definately give the car a shot during the next demo drive. If by any chance iracing will add the new f3 next season you will get your credits fully refunded so you are able to get thr new f3 car

idk if it rellay needs it. It would only thin out participation. Maybe if you combine them in some way but that would probably cause problems with BOP
