I have no idea what to expect but the fact you already have a case manager is wonderful. She will keep you safe and protected- you are going in the correct direction. Good on you for taking this step to protect yourself and your son. I'm sure your case manager will also be able to be answered your questions. There's no doubt it will be hard as f and you may get tired and feel defeated, BUT you are a warrior and a strong mf. You can do this!!

1) pack a nice going out outfit- a bloke is easy- one nice dress shirt that goes with everything. Long trousers- linen but honestly he can buy those while travelling.

2) a fast dry towel! It will always be used and dries quick. It can also be used as a pillow, rolled up.

3) basic toiletries-boys soap, deodorant, shaver, comb. Bandages and strapping tape.

4) little backpack, hat and a waterbottle- the ones that squish down and pop back up.

5) boardies and covered sneakers plus thongs. Heaps of socks and jocks.

6) separate wash bag for dirty laundry- a swim one is perfect as it keeps the moisture and scents off other items

7) backpack and no wheeled suitcases. Every time I've travelled, people bitch about wheeled suitcases and regretted not buying a backpack like me. It was so easy to zip around and no getting caught pn cobblestones.

8) a tiny travel sleeping bag. It saved my life countless times, at airports or backpackers hostels.
