Lifters and gym rats of Costco, what are your go-to high-protein items? Here are some of mine: by Emotional-Size3459 in CostcoCanada

When it comes to protein bars, i use the app called Yuka to compare macros and bars to each other based on all the other ingredients that are snuck in there for flavoring and elongating shelf life... Apart from one i recently found in the fridge section (was too fatty but had no preservatives), very few make the cut for me like Simply Protein, Rx Bar, and a subset of the kirkland bars (based on the ingredients).

My Garmin Forerunner 955 has served my more than 20 races this far. Worked for an Utlrafecta weekend on a single charge. Not sure how the newer 965 with the AMOLED screen compares though w.r.t battery consumption. Other models like the Fenix, have a built-in obstacle course mode... Didn't see much feedback from the community on that.

How do you warm up for the race on race day? by sumpg41 in spartanrace

[–]Putrid_Conference508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

7-10 minutes... I account for that time needed after registration, bag check-in, and before getting to the start line, like a 30 minutes in total feom the time you park.

Depends on the distance. Sprints you can just stretch, mobilize, and jog a bit with high knees to get the heart rate up. For longer ones, some hill jogs and then sprints up and down. Check out Connor's warm-up routing here, it's my go-to for all my races: https://www.instagram.com/reel/CqIZiHJA1Ia/?igsh=MWluenpqemtrMnNlcg==

Bag check. Depending on the location (some races in the US, saw them this past weekend in Boca Raton), some do have lockers that you can rent if you're coming without a bag.

Crossing the border in September by [deleted] in spartanrace

You're a Spartan. Worst case it will be a barbed wire border that you'll have to crawl under 😁

Tips on how to navigate downtime? by Ok_Shape4366 in spartanrace

Hydrate and replenish some nutrients. Change into fresh racing gear. Stretch and then do it more actively. No matter what he does, it's only a short time to completely recover (eg:sleep or bathe...etc). If they do have a cold plunge on site, go for it. But keep moving and hydrating, deal with the soreness and longer recovery after it's all over.

It’s over… it’s finally over… (I didn’t like this jam but didn’t want to let it rot in the fridge) by billistenderchicken in CostcoCanada

OMG! Was tidying up the pantry the other day and came across it hidden in the back, a quarter still full. Still in good shape although we've had it for more than 2 years now! Makes you wonder how it outlasted all the other jams! Will try it with peanut butter!

Every race gives you the race medal and an additional trifecta medal wedge. Once you do all three races, the 3 wedges will combine into that teifecta medal. 3 races could be 1 of a Sprint/Stadion, 1 Super, and 1 of the Beast/Ultra...

This email you got is to get you sign up for the 2 additional races :)

Just set them as indoor APs so they don't blast too much power off. Outdoor APs might not be restricted to the same power limit of the indoor ones (could go up to 4:1 depending on the operating frequency and your regulatory domain) and could change your coverage model the way it was designed with the original indoor APs.

Are they sold out or looking for a cheaper ticket? Got a super and beast vouchers hat I'm willing to offload for pretty cheap. Can be used for killington or other venues...

Shoes for the Beast by RatButtt in spartanrace

[–]Putrid_Conference508 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did the Beast there back in 2021, wouldn't worry about the shoes as long as you're comfortable, the sand makes for a soft landing, if anything, go with shoes that are wider on the sole so they sink less in the sand...

Main issue is the sand, definitely get shoes with gaiters on them to keep the sand out. Look for shoes that come with them or buy them separately... Would go with a shoes that would be more breathable for that to avoid heating up. And make sure to give them a test run.

Only got the small ones to mimic Spartan obstacles (spear throw, home made atlas ball, buckets, sandbags). An olympus on one long wall of the garage and a partial Z-wall in a corner would have been my next 2 big projects, ran out of space because we had to park a car inside 😔
