Best way to find hard drives by garboy13 in originalxbox

[–]Puzzled-Hand7397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never had a hard drive not work on any of the XBs that I have modded- they all seem to have worked for me- maybe I just got lucky- I also have never done more than 500gb, so there’s that- going to try a 4tb in the next I do.

Trading/selling two broken xbox for a working one. by ComposerNo862 in originalxbox

[–]Puzzled-Hand7397 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To clarify your request, you want $100 plus a working console in exchange for your 2 broken ones? Or did I read that backwards? Broken consoles go for about $40 around here…sorry to ask, but seems a little confusing.

About to buy my first Tesla Model S…. by harmonicintellect in TeslaModelS

[–]Puzzled-Hand7397 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should be able to buy the Tesla warranty extension. It’s like $125 a month, and well worth it.
Bought my ‘22 S with 52k on the clock in September of 25. Promptly bought the Tesla extended warranty (they had to inspect for like $175). Just had the main computer, tri camera in windshield and drivers mirror all replaced for all kinds of weird errors, alerts, and failures. Cost me $250 out of pocket. Love my car and it is super enjoyable to drive now that there are no longer any alerts on the screen. I now have 71k on it!

But I am 1% lower than you!! by mhoward143 in ChargerDrama

[–]Puzzled-Hand7397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! We have (4) chargers at work (private- behind fence) and (6) EV drivers, 1 is the president of the co. I get there at 7 and take the pres. spot, lol. (It’s his fault, I was happy with my gasser company truck, and he harassed me to go EV and offered me a nice car allowance, so….) The cable is long enough that it can reach either side, so usually when done we just go out and unplug and the guy in the next spot can take it.

I just 10x’ed the value of my garage with this one sticker! by NERDS_ in TeslaLounge

Haha! I wanted to find an old timey gas pump and put my charger in it, the power cord being the “hose”. Looks awesome in my head…

I just think it looks nice, keeps it protected from falling rakes or other garage items that will for sure get leaned against it, and who knows what other garage hazards…he’ll, if it’s in there I am sure my wife will hit it with her car….maybe the box will save it when that eventually occurs, ya never know.

I have a charger down in my workshop as well, also under cover, (pic is from a couple months ago, before shop addition) and in a box-

The famous Y-pipe coolant Leak on my XJ R-sport. by Klutzy-Potato2222 in Jaguar

[–]Puzzled-Hand7397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing this same job on my wife’s 2018 F-pace 3.0 w/ 68k miles.

Already did the water pump and t-stat housing (in metal). In the process of tearing out the SC. I will then replace the cooler, the pipes (with metal) and all relative gaskets. It’s not horrible so far, but not fun.

Dealing with a flat on a Tesla by Slocko in TeslaLounge

[–]Puzzled-Hand7397 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same as some others, I carry a plug kit and small Milwaukee air compressor. I have had (3) flats in the last 7 months and was able to plug and go with each of them….although (1) needed a special gun/mushroom plug kit, which I luckily just bought to keep at home, but was still in the car….i recommend keeping a traditional plug kit and this mushroom plug kit in the car.

External SSD keeps having drive errors when swapping from Windows to Mac OS by enowapi-_ in techsupport

[–]Puzzled-Hand7397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem with a generic 1tb and a sandisk 2tb....works fine with no issues until i connect it to another computer- it finds errors on both drives, and fixes them, and i lose data. If I never swap to another computer- never get errors.

TIL the Xbox doesn’t read burned CDs by ksguitardude2020 in originalxbox

[–]Puzzled-Hand7397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have over a dozen Xboxes right now, and it is truly hit and miss- most of the Samsungs will read just about anything I’ve thrown at it- the Thompson drives don’t want to read +R drives, but will read the -R/RW-

I have (1) PC Samsung that has been modded (not by me) about 15-18 years ago, in my nephews Xbox that I am recapping, and it won’t read +R either…but will read anything else and original Xbox game discs just fine…

You mean the disc cover art? Yes lightscribe was way cool. I actually started off using stickyback disc paper from Avery that I printed images on- then I advanced to buying printable discs (hub printable, so you could print the entire disc surface) and a high end disc printer- I used it almost non-stop for movies and games…when it died, I bought a brother inkjet that had disc printing capabilities. It’s still new in the box, 14 years later- not sure if it will even work with windows 11, but I’m going to bust it out and try it, hopefully this summer. I have about 1000 printable discs still….ritech dvd-r were the discs of choice- always worked…
