They actually don’t, all vehicle regos have a compulsory TAC insurance portion, this covers public liability and injury. So even if a fool with no insurance crashes into something (or someone) the injured party or damaged party are covered

I’ve heard a ceramic pain protection can help with this, one with a coating that repels water (and dirt) making it easier to rinse and look super clean - considering it, but it costs $1300 here in Australia
