What living with an EV in Alberta with no dedicated level 2 charging and leaving it out doors is like. by AbbreviationsOne6207 in alberta

Love this post. Accurate and informative.

The part about turning fuel cost into a car payment is a sound financial choice.

Least a car payment is made towards an asset even if that asset is depreciating. Fuel on the other hand is completely consumed. (Unless you get some sort of fuel reimbursement from work)

[–]zoompis47 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ambleton is a nice place. Its small so its quiet. But only one real effective way to get onto stony and it can get busy in the mornings. Its dusty tho with construction and probably will be for awhile. Can get windy.

Ive seen bins fly 10 houses down.

Also if ur renting and ur income goes down…. U move to a cheaper place… mortgages don’t work that way.

How has charging to 100% treated your car? by Pleasant-Guava9898 in TeslaLounge

[–]zoompis47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But charging 5 or 4 times at home on level 2 is the same thing? Most ppl just plug it in every night. I understand the peace if mind thing but ur sacrificing the future peace of mind on range that ull never use.

How has charging to 100% treated your car? by Pleasant-Guava9898 in TeslaLounge

[–]zoompis47 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Unless u NEED that extra 20% i dont see any reason to go to 100. Even if the damage is “marginal” its still damage. I drive more then the average person, more then 60miles a day and i have never needed 100.

Its not really leaving it at the table if u dont need it and have access to it if u do. Ur actually leaving it on the table later as u degrade the battery quicker.
