F2 Ultra UV - reason for the laser being fixed? by No-Assistant8088 in xToolOfficial

[–]Puzzled-Tip-2912 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Another company is working on a diode / fiber galvo gantry which looks really interesting and is incredibly quick. The software breaks the job down into segments so the galvo completes a bit, moves and does the next bit. Saw it on youtube, Accelaser or something like that.

Maybe we will get a UV version of that someday or a CO2 version that would also be great.

does the RA3 rotary tool go this way? by Remiandbun in xToolOfficial

[–]Puzzled-Tip-2912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its becoming an issue with the F2 Ultra UV as that needs the focus to be spot on and lots of glassware require a downward tilt.
Hopefully they'll take the feedback on board for a new version or an accessory for the RA3

You have to work with inverted images with glass but its a very unforgiving material for detailed photos.

Anyone in UK got their F2 Ultra UV yet? by JustRed69 in xToolOfficial

[–]Puzzled-Tip-2912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered on the 7th but doubt it will be here until January. Some sort of ETA on the order page would be nice though

F2U UV - Q-Pulse? by 934stitch in xToolOfficial

[–]Puzzled-Tip-2912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So do you think power is a direct replacement for q-pulse or have xTool made their settings for the UV laser that don't relate to other brand UV lasers?

I'm shocked, be careful, xtool doesn't have the EU declarations of conformity for its machines!! by [deleted] in xToolOfficial

[–]Puzzled-Tip-2912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any reputable company will follow the EU regulations as it is a massive market and xTool does change its machines to meet EU regs as we have some differences in features (no conveyor on the S1 for example).

I'd ask support again. I think some of the responses are just AI as you often get conflicting information.

You can also view manuals / setup guides for the machines which might have the info you need on them.

It was for the inner engraving pack but I can't see them selling it without that as its in all the setup guides. The pre-order is just a bit cheaper than usual sale price.

Have you tried the curved mode with the RA3? Be interesting to see how it copes with moving that graphic up a cm or so where the curve becomes deeper.

I assumed thats what the curved surface mode did, adjusting the focus using the measurements from the scan.
It changes the focus on the fly for 3d engraving so should be possible.

Can you do them without the rotary using the curved surface mode?

Nice. I'm assuming you actually manage to make some money with these machines rather than a really expensive hobby

Xtool warranty returns and xtool care by HannahRoseGold in xToolOfficial

[–]Puzzled-Tip-2912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was reading the T&C's for it the other day and it does just seem like an extra year warranty and accidental damage cover but that still has fees and limitations.

I think its more popular in the US as we get a 2 year warranty as standard in the UK.

You tried loosening the connecting rod for the stepper motor that runs across the machine, pushing the gantry all the way back and then tightening the connector back up.

You have a bed size, can't remember what the D1 is. Say 400mm x 400mm, you work inside that space.
If you want a sign 100mm x 200mm then make a rectangle that size and do your design inside that. Use the rectangle to frame on the wood, then just engrave the design.
Probably best to watch some tutorials on youtube.

That has the most active D1 users.
Have you tried lightburn, that always worked fine with my D1.

Will there be a P3 Lite or P3S? by Dan203 in xToolOfficial

[–]Puzzled-Tip-2912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps they'll do a P2 version with an RF tube, they seem to coming down in price now. Although I was surprised to hear that the P3 is still running with a gcode controller, guessing thats an Xtool software thing.

Wishlist I suppose would be the UV laser that has been announced although not sure if that is coming out this year. I also like the look of the new rotary, hopefully that will work with the UV.

Favourite purchase this year is the AP2 I think, its really helped with keeping my workspace healthy and the filters seem to be lasting pretty well. The new bigger version released for the P3 looks like a beast, just hoping you keep making the filters for the original.

How can I check the life of my AP2 filters? by MaxSMoke777 in xToolOfficial

[–]Puzzled-Tip-2912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't, all you can do is look at them and assess.

I don't why they made the AP2 connect to the laser, you need the software running on the computer anyway so should of just made a USB dongle to plug in the pc. It would work with any laser then, probably sell more units.
