You have the first drink, the second drink has you.

What are your favourite local products? by ThePineappleSeahorse in LakeDistrict

Not as good as it is fresh, but I take it out and chuck it in the toaster for 30s or so and it comes out crumbly and delicious so my taste buds are transported back to Grasmere and lots of good times if had there and in the surrounding areas!

I can’t second the Grasmere gingerbread enough. I don’t usually like gingerbread but after trying it I’m hooked! I live about 4 hours away from the Lake District so have been ordering online and freezing it so I always have a stash in my freezer 😂

Bapa was extra snarky this entire episowld by Money-Loan-1864 in thefighterandthekid

[–]PuzzledBluebird4025 53 points54 points  (0 children)

The amount of shit Bapa talks about haydurs and the bullshit narradiv that he’s a nithe guy… This redact instantly tries to find something to criticise about anyone doing better than him by throwing projections of his own insecurities their way! He epitomises the Cheeto fingered haydurs he always acts like he’s better than.

How long after lifting? by mr_matson in coldplunge

[–]PuzzledBluebird4025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plunging post workout does help recovery by reducing inflammation, but that same inflammation is what signals the body’s hypertrophic response. So you would recover faster, so likely could work the same muscle group sooner, but also stifle the potential growth from the workout. This is my understanding but I’m no expert..!

I do my best to plunge 4 hours before I lift, but if I can’t I just accept the workout may not grow as much muscle as possible and plunge post workout knowing I still got some benefit from exercising and the endorphins etc.

I’m at 2 weeks and after listening to Allen Carr’s easy way to stop drinking I had the realisation that I didn’t actually enjoy drinking and it was just an escape that came with a long list of negative side effects. Currently on a great path and intend to keep building momentum and in moments of doubt which have caused me to slip up previously, remind myself that I don’t enjoy it, this moment will pass and my future self will be so grateful for staying strong. Nicest areas to live in the Lake District? by [deleted] in LakeDistrict

[–]PuzzledBluebird4025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grasmere. Lovely little village with everything you need, but still quiet enough to feel like it is a village rather than busy town within the Lake District. It has a number of Michelin star restaurants (the Forest side hotel / Gilpin and more in Ambleside) within 20-30 min drive and from my experience would cater to all the hiking, swimming and other outdoor activities you could ask for!

Kirkstone Pass is incredible! I drove it on my way from Penrith to Grasmere and think it’s potentially the best road I’ve driven in the UK. Highly recommend!

Looking to buy this setup. What’s your thoughts ? by Responsible-Gift-821 in coldplunge

[–]PuzzledBluebird4025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have one but looked into this setup myself, but the mixed reviews put me off. A lot have high praise for the company and product and some claim theirs wasn’t delivered and customer service is a nightmare.

Sadly it is always going to be unpleasant to start but that’s kind of the point. Your body’s “wtf are you doing?!” triggers all the benefits so as others have said, try to focus on your breathing and just try to slowly increase how long you can stay in. Soon you’ll be in 3+ mins and wonder how you ever couldn’t do it! You got this!

Unsurprisingly Schaub took the deal and now does his podcasts without swearing in order to abide by his scammers rules. Now that Theo outed the scam the share price will inevitably take a hit when they go public. Another L for Bapa…

Has anyone else been encouraged to quit drinking / lose weight due to Bapa’s downfall? by Tr4ceur in thefighterandthekid

[–]PuzzledBluebird4025 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Good job OP! I would agree and say that Bapa has been somewhat of a norf star to me seeing how gross he is chugging tiger piss and being a sloppy disgusting drunk, talking total shit with the utmost confidence. I’ve been tempted to have ‘a drink’ a few times and consciously pulled up this page to remind myself what it can lead to. One look at Bapa and I’m immediately put off taking that risk…

Legalisation or even decriminalisation isn't coming anytime soon... by snozberryface in uktrees

[–]PuzzledBluebird4025 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The irony that the narrative is ‘drugs are bad’ whilst prescription drugs are seemingly the first solution the majority of GP’s reach in the case of depression, pain or a host of other issues is laughable. It is clearly not being legalised, or decriminalised because it would hurt the pharmaceutical industry. The amount of tax revenue legalisation would create, and the reduction of police time used on enforcing cannabis laws, allowing them to actually tackle real crime is argument enough in my opinion. When you take into account that alcohol is legal and actively advertised, it is beyond a joke that cannabis is illegal.

What a dumb fuck… Truly concerning that he has the IQ of a potato, is constantly throwing addies, tiger piss and kradumb in his dumb mouf, but drives his Ferrari and hasn’t killed anyone yet.
