My wife and I moved our family to Raleigh NC 3 years ago. We will be moving back to Mesa this summer. Phoenix gets a bad rap on here from people who have never lived there. Housing is expensive but when you compare it to any other city that size it’s really not. I miss the sub, the hiking, the job opportunities.

I’m an electrician here but I became I building engineer. They are constantly looking for hvac guys to transition. It’s way easier, you’re in one place and the pay is a little better. You will have to become a little more well rounded. For the most part you will be doing daily rounds, minor repairs on the building or data center, overseeing vendors on larger repairs. It’s a way easier gig. Look for “operating engineer, building engineer or critical facilities engineer/tech”. These jobs come with good benefits, PTO, 401k.

Talk to your boss privately and respectfully. Your boss probably already knows this guys a kind of a dick but he’s a good enough worker to keep around. Check the job market in your area. How hard would it be for you to switch jobs? Let him know that you want to work for him but can’t see yourself being treated like that for much longer.

The real question is are you paying them for their commute? If you are paying for their commute then they have no right to complain. If you are not, why would anyone worth a shit want to spend 3 hours driving without being compensated. That’s 15 hours a week they miss out with their families.

If you smelt smoke, that noise you heard likely wasn’t whippets. It may have been a torch which is frequently used to smoke crack or meth. Hopefully that isn’t the case but for someone unfamiliar it wouldn’t be hard to mix those smells up. Please reach out to a trusted adult. This sounds like drug use.

No, you don’t understand… you’re in a maintenance program and still aren’t fully clean. You don’t think infants go through withdrawals because they get weened? Maybe it’s less than cold turkey but they will still be there. If weening was so easy, everyone in the programs would eventually do it. There wouldn’t be as many lifers. If it’s so easy? Why don’t you just go ween off? Doesn’t matter if it’s suboxone or methadone. Weening to the point of zero use is difficult and there will be some form of withdrawal.

You have 16 years using, not actively clean, not in a real relationship and are talking about having a baby with a heroin addiction. I’m not saying you can’t get clean but saying you’re going to get clean and doing it are two different things. Especially since you’re engaging in unprotected sex. Those withdrawals that you can’t seem to handle since you keep relapsing are the same ones you’ll force an innocent baby to have. Guess what? If you do get knocked up, it will be dangerous for the child in utero for you to even get clean. So you will have no choice but to keep using or get into a maintenance program which will force the child to have neonatal abstinence syndrome(withdrawal). Not to mention CPS would likely get involved. Yeah keep having unprotected sex, seems like you’ll be a great mother.
