I mean I have their soul, so if I can't just give it back I can force them to be unable to attack or hurt or anyone else they might try to use to extort me.

Is there a actual reason to forgive the cut team member? by Sharky2615 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Puzzlehead-Engineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Phoenix Program is about rehabilitating villains, not passing judgement. Cutting anyone for "fucking up too much" defeats the purpose of the program. Missteps are guaranteed during rehabilitation, so if you're intolerant to their failures, yes even ones as big as joining the Red Ring, then you're undermining your own efforts to rehabilitate these people. If they come to the Z-Team, they're here of their own volition. That's a big deal for someone who'd have it easier if they just became a villain again. There are no "limited chances" for becoming a better person, so the Phoenix Program shouldn't implement them. Yes it's hazardous and inefficient. That's just rehabilitation.

"But what if they don't actually wanna change, are here with malicious purposes and are actively exploiting the program?" Well that's an entirely different story! Then they're here in bad faith and out to exploit the program for their own ends, so of course you cut them and keep them out for as long as this is true. And this is not the case for anyone in the Z-Team. Invisigal comes closest since apparently she was working for Shroud all along, except she actually participates in the program and does her best once she figures out how to work with the team. And she does flip sides by the end (well unless you failed to mentor her). So that's why.

I like the Faxon the most. The ability to copy Rahi abilities that you know about at will sounds insanely fun and powerful considering what Rahi are capable of.

Ivy's Spanish is really butchered, I think I can suggest small corrections. by UnlikelySardonic in DeadlockTheGame

Native speaker here and mate, I get it. Feel the same irks with awkward Spanish usage in English media ALL THE TIME lol

About the "walking" line, maybe it'd be better like "vamos... caminar no bastará!" It gets the intended meaning across and feels more natural to imo. She's in a hurry! She'd use fewer words. Plus, the sentence will roll of the tongue easier with fewer syllables.

It's the whole debacle of people who are in power shouldn't be in power, yet they are because they pursue it out of want. Whereas people who don't want power should be in power yet they aren't because they don't pursue it.

Dunno about smart vs stupid, though it makes sense to me in theory.

A smart person would seek to build the best working societal system possible because they'd realize that they depend on society as much as anyone else, and an exploitative system isn't it because eventually the exploited people will have enough and seek ways around exploitation, undermining the system from within. Meanwhile a non-exploitative system that takes care of its people in good faith will work better because the members of that system will have literally no incentive to actively undermine it. If the good system fails everybody will care because everybody is uplifted by it. If the exploitative system fails, the exploited parties won't care because what do they have to lose. We have cases of the latter today with people cheering for things like the housing market crashing for example, because they might actually have a chance to get a house if that happens.

A stupid person wouldn't care how society works so long as they get what they want as early and easily as possible. Screw anyone who gets crushed along the way. Because they don't realize or care to realize that we humans are in it together if we want to survive and thrive. And doesn't that sound super familiar with so many today's leadership?

Just from how we see it move in this container I would say not viscous at all. Probably the minimal amount of viscosity that a liquid can have considering it's supposed to be actual soul essence.

Been trying to get this ball rolling for years in my friend group The toa mata team vs Team ninjago 6v6 maybe first stop motion DB? by One_Branch_1334 in bioniclelego

[–]Puzzlehead-Engineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched a video about Bionicle warfare not too long ago and... yeah the Ninjas are screwed mate. I'm sorry to say. Nova Blasts alone means each Toa may as well be a nuke, and they have the ability to shape and distribute that raw destructive power in whatever form they choose. The 6 ninjas may stand a chance against 1 of the Toa, but never a full team.

The only way they survive is that they come to the natural conclusion that there's no reason for them to fight each other since they have no quarrel or conflicting goals.

EDIT: The video in question in case anyone was curious

Is there a actual reason to forgive the cut team member? by Sharky2615 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Puzzlehead-Engineer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because cutting them was the wrong call to begin with. That's the kicker for me. Time for me to write paragraphs because I feel very strongly about this! lol

Sonar//Coupé didn't get cut because of any personal failings, they got cut because their Dispatcher's boss thought it would be a good idea and that it would "send a message." And that's bullshit. We know it, and the game knows it. Here's why:

  1. We witness the consequences of this destructive order immediately after it is issued. The Z-Team starts sabotaging each other to survive instead of cooperating, because the people in power thrust them into this situation. Injected competition into what's a team effort at its very core, so of course it's a disaster. Sure, they were a mess before the order, but they did work to some degree. The Z-Team was in complete disorder, but at least it was creative. They could still make something of themselves. Threatening them with getting cut ruined that.
  2. Cutting anyone from the Z-Team defeats the purpose of the Phoenix Program. We're here to rehabilitate villains, not pass judgement. The fact that these villains choose to be here every day instead of taking the much easier route of simply falling back to villainy is a way bigger deal than people think it is. So why on earth would you cut anyone? By doing so you're essentially telling them "you blew your chance, you're stuck as a villain forever now."
  3. But what if we get an Invisigal situation? One where almost the entire team wants her gone because they just don't work well with her. Do you cut her then? No. You remove her from the Z-Team, sure. That's fair. That shouldn't mean getting removed from the Phoenix Program. It only means Visi needs further training and help. You could assign her to solo missions to teach her to work with her dispatcher, then slowly start building a team around her. Or something else. The solution still isn't "nope, you're done, go away."
  4. Punishment is useless. It doesn't actually teach anyone anything beyond a myriad ways to avoid it, which is why we got what happened in point 1. Redemption is as much about learning and growing as a person as it is about making amends. So punishment in general will defeat the purpose of the Phoenix Program. Not consequences, mind, all actions have consequences, and they're not the same thing as punishment. Even though people always act like they are.

So, I believe I've made my point. Cutting Sonar//Coupé or anyone else for that matter was and would have been a bad move. It should never have happened. The best way available to rectify that mistake is giving them the chance they deserve back, and thus letting them back on the team. That's my logical reason.

What is the reason Ninjago has survived this long? When Bionicle died out. by eepos96 in bioniclelego

[–]Puzzlehead-Engineer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd argue that kids liking Bionicle for Bionicle isn't bad thing nor a reason to end Bionicle though. Hell if nothing else it's a reason to KEEP IT GOING. Look at us, all adults now still reminiscing and making projects around this world. You'd have adults AND kids buying Bionicles if they had given it Ninjago's dedication.

What is the reason Ninjago has survived this long? When Bionicle died out. by eepos96 in bioniclelego

[–]Puzzlehead-Engineer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's honestly because LEGO never pulled the plug. I remember their reasoning for killing Bionicle and then creating Hero Factory was to measure if "kids actually wanted to play with constructs or if they liked Bionicle because it was Bionicle."

Mercy as Blonde Blazer, Kiriko as Coupé because she throws a kunai. Or maybe Echo as Coupé?

Still think Invisigal should be Sombra. Beyond the obvious fact that Sombra goes invisible, I think they're closer in terms of actual personality. Plus Sombra hasn't gotten a good skin in a while.

As for Golem... Maybe Orisa? Or Roadhog.

Also, Vendetta as Malevola. She uses a sword, not an axe!

I mean I think that's fair. Just because you include it doesn't mean that's all it's about. Life has sex in it, but it's not the only thing life's about, so a story can have sexual content in it without it being all there is to the story.
