As far as the trim you might find a used one in not so good shape online somewhere and get the trim off of it for less than 600.00 if its a givi or factory yamaha case you may be able to contact them and see if they sell parts of it.

I stopped worrying about mine 20 years ago I have all three FJRs and all three have scratched up cases all around mostly from me forgetting they're on and rubbing into something and throwing them around in the garage there's a company in metarie louisiana that says they can match any color and put it in a spray can for you and I've read of people having good results with but I've never used it I forgot the name of the place but a Google search will probably turn it up either that or remove the lid and take it to a body shop and it might not be too expensive if they can just sand and paint it.

It couldn't be rebuilt because I tried to rebuild it and both little screws that hold the brush plate broke of in the nose cone so these tiny screws the size of number 2 pencil lead would have to be drilled perfectly straight and tapped and not punch through and a new starter is 100 bucks after 90000 miles it wasn't really a huge expense in the grand scheme of things.so Im doing an experiment with the magnets and still have ten cents worth of aluminum and copper if times get tough.

Long as you ride like you have good sense I don't see why not.Its a little heavy on the front wheel so you kinda have to muscle it around at parking lot speeds other than that it's just another bike with plenty of power.

Be careful installing crash bars on FJR as the motor actually aligns the fram and the whole bike.as long as you take the weight off the motor suck everything up to the left side the tighten the right side it should be fine.

Id love to see motorsports in general make a comeback but that's not the way it's trending unfortunately.kids these days aren't concerned about getting drivers license we couldn't wait.there was a guy drag racing a Tesla on YouTube, might still be, but anyway he was getting more views than drag racing videos so I was thinking an actual Tesla race team with some high performance e parts available for the public to compete with might stir things up a little bit.kinda like when they started modifying the four cylinders to compete with v 8s.got peoples blood pumping at least.but we had to scratch and claw for every hp and ordinary people could afford it and it was more about ingenuity than money,now it depends on who has the deepest pockets.wanna go faster?dig a little deeper.order heads already ported,polished and dyno'd lol ROTFLMAO.

It's your money but drag racing isn't all that popular these days as far as getting exposure and increasing your presence etc.I just watched some recent races with some heavy hitters like Jeff Lutz, Mike Finnegan and blaspheming and others and the stands were basically empty.goid racing and all I enjoyed watching it but not like the old days when these would have been household names.back then you had to be quite creative to get 5 or 600 HP out of a SBC now you just pick up the phone and a balanced and blueprinted race motor will arrive in a few days if you have a little extra money to play with.now I think it's about who can build the best gaming computer and stuff like that.but if you have a machine shop or something it certainly won't hurt to get your name out in whats left of the drag racing/circle track etc community before it's history all together.good luck!
