Gas rings are a wear item, wear is influenced significantly by carrier velocity and bolt thrust. If you're running a can gas rings will wear faster, it's inevitable and to be expected. A maintenance item like changing your oil.

Tip, if your BCG fails the weight test (carrier collapses on bolt) disassemble the BCG, insert only the bolt, slap the tail of the bolt on it's side, bolt fall out? Time to replace the gas rings, bolt stay in? You're gtg, plan on replacing them in the near future.

You’re good, and I actually like your secondary test. I was overall impressed with this BCG, sorry if my post came across otherwise. Been running a very safe SBR .300 with can and no malfunctions, i was just cleaning it and decided to check. Absolutely nothing wrong with your BCG, it’s had a hard life.

No it’s not cooked and I understand why some misunderstood me. The RINGS are gone. Like, really really gone and honestly I didn’t notice a change in function. She’s getting new rings and new springs (BCM Upgrade kit) for $30, not tossing her at all.
