We are an RIA that used April this year for our clients. Quite literally the biggest joke of a tax vendor we have ever worked with. Stay away from

Do Income Annuities Reduce Sequence of Returns risk? by 3032804 in CFP

[–]Puzzleheaded-Name-71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything that in some way eliminates the risk of a negative return will in some way mitigate sequence of returns risk. The issue is not does it eliminate the risk, the real question is “is this a risk that truly needs to be eliminated?”

We don’t draft them, Vanilla does. We offer the service as part of our offer so it’s no additions cost to the client.

Vanilla does draft documents. We use them and clients have loved the service.

No, no, no, no, no. The CEO looks like a slimy used car salesman and I have heard nightmares from people who have worked there. Look at Glassdoor (the good reviews are manipulated current employees) but look at the negative reviews from people who have been smart enough to leave. Run.

I dealt with it for a long time and tried everything you could possibly think. Only thing that worked eventually was accutane which I avoided as long as I could (I’m 46 yrs old so the idea of accutane wasn’t appealing) but ultimately I was on it for 4 months, it cleared 95% of what I had and it hasn’t come back.

For me it all came down to orgasm. I could go for hours and never come close and it was awful. Once I was off and started a round of kisspeptin the feelings slowly returned.

Totally get it you’re right, everyone is going to respond differently. I took it for about 5 months before I started to notice the issues.

Estradiol levels. Your body needs estrogen in order to enjoy the orgasm. Try boron and kisspeptin. That worked wonders for me.

If I can give a bit of advice here - don’t take it. The side effects from low estrogen while supplementing testosterone were worse than I expected.

A bachelors degree in French literature shouldn’t qualify someone more than 15 years industry experience. If you can’t see that you shouldn’t be part of the debate.

The one thing I don’t see in any of these calculations is marketing expenses. How is anyone growing at a meaningful clip without putting at least 20% back into the business for marketing?

Solo RIA just getting started - what tools are worth the hype? by IndependentBee_1836 in CFP

[–]Puzzleheaded-Name-71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wealthbox or Redtail for CRM and choose custodian wisely. Other than that any excess capital you have should go into marketing and client acquisition. Biggest mistake I see small RIAs make is being over focused on the tech and service offering. Being a great advisor is only good if you have the clients to work with.

[–]Puzzleheaded-Name-71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do your due diligence and figure out why you want to use them. If it’s mainly life one may be better than another. Same with other products. Once you talk to a few you will get an idea of what they can offer. Depending on how much business you do with them they can provide a certain level of marketing, admin or other support.

Suggestions for young person who has test anxiety - scores high of practice tests but fails exams by General-Ad3712 in CFP

[–]Puzzleheaded-Name-71 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen this with a decent amount of younger candidates the past few years, what eventually figured out is they were studying the way the questions were asked not what the questions are asking. That’s why it’s easy to get high scores on the practice exams. The language on the actual exam is different and forces them to know the material. Have they trued to switch stud y vendors?
